children, missionaries to China, have
recently returned for their furlough
|year and are guests of Dr. Patter
|son’s sister, Mrs. E. C. Wilson, and
| Mr. Wilson. Dr, Patterson will spend
|several weeks in Georgia with rela
|tives and friends before going to
| Philadelphia for a year's study.

: Stokes complimented Mrs. Lacy Wil
: liams, of Raleigh, N. C., the house
guest of Miss Ethel Jackson, with
|three tables of bridge. The living
room where the tables were placed
was attractive with a profusion of
zinnias. Following the game, a deli
cious salad course with iced tea was
served. Mrs, Stokes was assisted in
serving by Mrs. M. M. Stokes.

C. S. Jackson will be interested to
learn that Mr. Jackson will leave the
latter part of the week for Bowdon,
where he enters the first of August
upon his duties as clerk of the city.
Bowdon is the former home of M.
and Mrs, Jackson, and that this posi
tion was offered him gives indication
lof the great esteem in which he is
‘held there. In addition to his work
‘as city clerk, Mr. Jackson is contem
'plating opening another business in
l~Bowdon. Mrs. Jackson and the chil
dren will remain in Fprsyth until
about the first of September. It is
with deep®regret that Forsyth gives‘
{up this family. Vitally interested in
{the welfare of the town, they have
|entered wholeheartedly into every
{wokthwhile movement, and have
made, good citizens. The best wishes
| {of a host of friends follow them to

Mrs. Patterson was the recipient
of many lovely gifts and cards as |
well as the personal cong-ratu-fations’
of many friends who called duringl
the afternoon. The evening was giv-!
en to music and the heur was late‘
when the last seng faded and voices
were stilled for the wnight’s repose.
Mrs. Patterson is to be heartily
congratulated for few mothers have
the honor of giving to the world a
teacher, a lawyer, a Sunday school
superintendent, a medical missionary
to China, a missionary to Africa and
a minister’s wife.

for the July missionary program. The
subject for the month was “Leading
Many to Righteousness”. Circle No.
1 was in charge with Mrs. George
Goedwyne as leader. The devotion
al was brought by Mrs. John Steph-§
ens, and those taking part in a dis

ace Newton, Mrs. Jesse Burns and
Mrs. Fred Stokes. An organ solo
