September Term ISG7, Wc the Grand Jury selected and sworn for September Term 1567 of Greene Superior Court submit the fol lowing general presentments . We have examined through appropri ate Committees the Records of the Clerk of the Superior, ialerior and CouDty Courts, and find them neatly and correctly kept ; reflecting great credit upon that effleeint and faithful officer. We have examined the Records and papers belonging to the office of the Ordinary, and find them kept in a manner highly creditable to that very competent officer. We find the Rooks and vouchers of the Treasurer correctly kept, and all the vouchers regularly numbered and properly filed—lVc find at the last term of the Court, cash on hand slll, 53. Received since from various sources $1,255.37 —making 1306,90, He has paid in excess of rece'pts $67,05y which amount is yet due that officer, We find the Court House in good condition and kept in good order, we recommend to the. Justices of the In ferior Court, to have the Couit and Grand Jury rooms re-covered and the fence around the Court House Square repaired or rebuilt. We find the Jail as cleanly kept as its construction and the number of inmates received will admit, some re pays are necessary for the safety, com ■ fort and health of the prisoners, H 7 e find some of the Roads in bad condition aud urge upon the Commis sioners of the respective Districts the faithful performance of their duties. We would mention the fact, that the names of over five hundred ot the reg istered colored voters have not been entered upon the Digest of the Receiver of Tax Returns. The Grand Jury indulge the hope and bclie r , that amid the political clouds which overshadow the country, and the changed domestic relations that have been effected that neither “princi palities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come,” shall impair the personal respectability of the white people of the South, or contaminate the purity of the blood of our fathers. To his Honor. Judge Reese we ten der our thanks for his courtesy to this body, and the veiy able discharge of bis duties at this term of the Court. To the Attorney General, Cob Lof ton we tender our acknowledgements for his counsel and courtesy to this body and the efficient discharge of his duties.
