In these times of political trouble,
when the minds of men are excited tn
an abnormal condition, and when the
worst passions, aroused to fever-heat,
flash out lightnings like from the gath

small voice of the “Thimble rigger” is
heard in the land, like the Sybil crying
through the streets if Pompeii, saying
unto all men. “vote f r me, let’s wet
our whistle !” and when the ominous
thunder of Tricksters fall upon the
trembling ears of thousands of our fel
low-citizens, like unto the pouring of

who love their money and Jeffersonian
