Who can describe ii? What pen can
write its record? What toungue can truly
tell it? It is a sad death—oh how sad!
There is no comfort on that dying pillow,
no repose, no lighting up of joy in the de
parting spirit. Gloom, sadness, intense
anguish are there making those last hours
terrible in the extreme! Oh, his end; his
awful, dreadful end! Think of it, reader,
of the thousands that go to such a death in
this land every month! Eveiy one of these
ore forever shut ont of heaven! Church
of God awake to this truly terrible fact
and startling truth! Oh, professing Chris
tians! how can you remain idle for one mo
ment, and see your fellow man dropping
into a drunkard’s grave, and perhaps a
drunkard’s hell, without raising your voice
to warn him of the aw Pul danger ami the
final fate of the drunkard. Let the death,
the awful death of the inebriate, h ; s soul
tost forever, let this be thought of by those
who vote to place the temptation in the
way. to c et the trap to catch men!

Arouse the house! Break your mother’s
heart with tenderness, and set your fa-,
ther to—well—repeating liis catech
ism! Waken any old bachelor who may
be in the house from his dreams, and
disturb everybody to your souls content!
Have your day while you can, the time
will come when, suffer as you may,
you will not dare to weep. All your
misery, al! your woe, all your passion,
you must hide in your bosom. Often
and often you feel that you would like
to go up on a m untain and yell until
you awaken the world—ery until the
rivers arose and there were floods;
but. like the rest of us, you will hear it
in silence, suii!e politely when any one
sees you, though there he a power of
misery within you strong enough to
work the mills of fate, (do on.baby;

seem perfectly capable of it. Oh,

If we bahie9 of a larger growth
could do it, there would be less
suicides.

Good Digestion.
“Give us this day our daily bread”
and good medicine to digest it, is both
reverent and human. The human
stomach and liver are fruitful sources
of life’* comforts; or, disordered and
diseased, they tingle misery along every
nerve and through every artery the
man or woman with good digestion see
beauty as they walk, and overcome
obstacles they meet in the routine of
life, where the dyspeptic sees only
gloom and stumbles and growls at even
imaginary objects. The world still
needs two or three new kinds of medi
cine before death can bo perfectly abol
ished; but ihSt many lives have been
prolonged, and manj sufferers from
Liver disease, Dyspepsia and Headache
have been cured by Meurei.l’s llepa
tine, is no longer a doubt. It cures
Headache in twenty minutes, and there
is no question but what it is the most
wonderful discovery yet made in medi
cal science. Those affiicted with Bil
liouaness and Liver Complaint should
use Mertie(,t,’B Hepatink.

A Sure Cure for Consumption
Those suffering from this fearful disease
are assured that Thrash’s Consumptive
Cure -aud Lung Restorer will positively
cure. Ask the recovered consumptive how
he was cured, and he will tell you Thrash’s
remedy is the only one that is a sure cure
for the disease. Pleurisy, Pneumonia,
Coughs, Colds readily give way where the
remedy is employed. Croup and Whooping
Cough lose their horror where the Con
sumptive Cure has been introduced, and no
family who have ouce used or witnessed its
happy effects will ever consent to be with
out it again. It is so simple in its compo
sition, containing no opium or other injuri
ous drugs, that the most delicate aud feeble
can use it without the least injury.
John 11. Mead of Atlanta, Ga., writes:—
“It is the only remedy now extant for
Consumption and diseased lungs.”
Rev. Dr. Lovic Pierce says—
‘l have, been speechless about two months
—have been taking Thrash’s Remedy. This
is the ninth day, aud I can talk now with
some ease.”
