oldest- and most esteemed citizens,
Mrs. Catharine Bolhwell, consort of
our late deceased 'fellow-citizen,
Capt. J. W. Bolhwell,
She died Tuesday-evening about
3 o’clock, of old age and general de
bility, ad was intered in ihe ceme
tery in this place yesterday evening
at 4 o’clock.

fifty-five or bitty six y< ars ago,
where she has resid and ever since.--
She was about S2 years of «ge, ano
was a consisient member of the
Presbyterian church for a long time.
We extend our heartlelt sympathies

atives in their sad bereavement.—
We trust some friend who was well
acquainted with her will" write hei
obituary, which we will willingly
publish.

Commissioners’ Court.
Ou r town Commissioners were
summoned tog H lher on Monday last
to hear the charges brought against
Henry Salter, a gentlen an ? of the
colored way of riding a mule, by his
wife. The evidence showed that
Henry hud given his “better.-half” a
regular thrashing, for which he was
required to pay ii io our town treasu

town authorities have decided io put
Broad Street in good repair. They
have well experienced hands em

soon to see the street well graded.
