The annual election of officers took
place on Wednesday night of last week
at the Baptist church. ,Mr. M. R. Lyon
was elected superintendent of Sunday
school ; Mr. R. H. Northcutt, assistant.

Miss Mary Towers, Mr. A. A. Towers
and Mr. Donegan Towers, who have
been at the sick bed of Miss Mary Dean
Towers, in Spartanburyg, S. C., have re
turned home. Miss Mary Dean Towers
is on a fair way to recovery, which will
be gratifying news to her many friends
in Marietta,
Mr. William Johnston is not con
nected with the Marietta Waterworks.
Mr. Jehn Stubinger has charge of that
department, being made chief engineer.
Norice 1o Lapies.—Miss Perry, of
Atlanta, will be at the Kennesaw house
Friday, representing the Industrial
League. She will explain the plan of
home work for ladies, embroidery, lace
work, plain and fancy sewing; also
writing at home, paying from $5 to $l5
per week. Ladies and girls who arein
terested in this line, as well .as those
who want to learn how to make money
should call and see her. One part of
the Industrial League takes in jellies,
preserves, faney cooking, fresh eggs,
butter, honey, ete. Ladies who ean
take up these lines will find it to their
interest to call on Miss Ada M Perry,
at the Kennesaw house, Friday.
