The burglar who entered Mr. Mosher’s
store one night last week, did so
through a rear window, breaking a pane
of glass out of the middle door and en
tering the store room, rifling the money
drawers of about $5.00 in pernies, and
then carried off some canned goods,
eggs, etc. Next morning early a negro
woman was trying to get the merchants
to exchange silver for $1.50 in pennies.
It was reported to the officers, and she
said her brother, Almer Johnson, who
used to work tor Mr. Mosher, gave her
the pennies. When Officers Williams
and Morris went to arrest Johnson, he
fled. They gave him chase, but he out
ran the officers and escaped. —
