IN MEMORY OF MR. GEORGE HULL
CAMP.
Two loviniarms, ovutstretched to me,
Once spoke my welcome there,
A tender of word greeting said;
An act of thoughtful care.
Afiemle heart, whose kindly speech
ad never learned to wait:
And now instead, an empty chair,
A house left desolate.
Throu%h all the lonely rooms I pass,
And listen as I go,
If I may hear but once n%ain.
His foot step, soft and slow,
Time was, when every echo spoke
Of his dear presence near,
When every room was brightened by
His smile and word of cheer.
Yet, dear beloved, though bowed down
By sorrow’s heavy weight,
We may not call his earthy home
*“A house left desolate.”
Those years, so full of loving deeds,
Of daily thoughtand care,
Have left their freight of memories,
To blossom everywhere.
Speak to each other often
Of his purity and grace ;
And lo! the fragrance of his life
Shall fill the quiet place.
Unlock the volume of the past,
And open where you may,
A strain of music softly steals—
Song of a lovely day.
That rugged oak, whose giant girth
For skyward rears its length,
Stands, elo?uem. for what he was, /
His steadfastness and strength.
And as the tree keeps watch and ward,
Though frost, its foliage strips,
80, through all stress of timeand hap,
Truth sentinelled his lips.
In every corner. every spot,
Within Tranquilla’s walls.
» On us, who knew and loved him so,
His shadow aom?- falls, |
That dear head, silver crowned, lies low, |
Wellearned its quiet rest; ;
. But he lives on, in each one’s heart, ‘
Whose hand his hand has pressed.
We mourn his absence, miss him sore,
We can not help but wm-;l);
But hark! a voice all Vimu -
“This is not Death, but sleep!”
He’s waiting in the Homeland fair,
Until his loved ones come,
When once again, his outstretched arms
Shall speak our welcome home.

primary.
1 promise the entire people of this
Judicial Circuit that if I am elected, I
will devote the best work and energy of
my life to the duties of the office, and I
will give them a fair, impartial, clean,
lun(), economical administration of the
aws.
I will do this regardless of how they
voted in the past or how they may vote
in the future.
I will do this regaraless o{ what po

with in the past or may affiliate within
the future.
I will do this regardless of their poli

- I will do this regardless of whether
they are rich or poor, white or black. ‘
Every man, rich or poor, Democrat,
Posulist, or Republican, should respect
and obey the laws:and when the law
deals with them, they should all be
dealt with fairly, justly and impartially,
and they should all be placed upon the
same level in the court house. Polities,
political differences, nor political prej

the enforcement of our laws or the dis
charge of official duties.
Whether I have opposition or not, I
also promise the entire people of the
Circuit that I will not in this race, di

whiskey, or any other thing of value,

friends to do this.
1 am a member of the State Demo
cratic Executive Committee from the
State-at-Large, and I will advocate the
adoption and enforcement of rules
which will prohibit the use of money,
whiskey, or any other things of value,
to buy votes or hire workers in any of
the primaries, and that will disqualify
any person from being declared the
nominee of the party for any office, who
violates the rules of the Committee.
It Las been my intention for a num
ber of months to make this race, and I
have so expressed myself in private
conversations to a number of people
throughout the Circuit. I have met
with overwelming encouragement. I
feel sincerely grateful for this.
I will appreciate the support of each
and every voter in the entire Oircuit.
My heart is full of gracitude and ap
rreciution. and will ever be, for the
oyal support given me in the past
throughout the Cireuit, both in my po
litical aspirations and in my profession.
Trusting that you will favor me with
your support and influence, I am,
Very respectfully,

Dear Sir: Two cans of paint look

they’re new—unless one is scant.
They are far from alike: one is paint
and the vther is trash. |
The gallon price is not far from alike.
They gon’t cost alike. One takes 10
gallons to paint a house; the other
takes 20. The cost of one job is $5O;
the other sloo—it may be s9o—the job
that costs least is the good one; wears
twice as long as the other.
There are two ways of telling good

least gallons.
