private contracts, because it would be a
violation of the Constitution of the Uni

the war the parties contracting them
•ought to agree among themselves on some
equitable plan to settle them. It is my
opinion tlie debtor ought to pay whaF

funds at the time the contract was made,
if they can arrive at that fact. The
.Judges, in all probability, may adopt some
■plan to settle these claims.
