from coir limits, a Brrions annoyance and
injury will have boen inflicted upon that
class of Georgians.
How to cut short all future articles from
the pen of this Radical editor, we presume
to express tbe opinion, that the immigrants
who have so little sense a* to believe true
all his denunciations of the white dtiaous
of Georgia, are not solicited to settle in
this State, for ere long the authorities
would he forced by the dictates of humani
ty to oonaign them totheoareof Hr. Green,
Superintendent of the Lunitic Asylum,
and that officer has already published that

Oa the subject of immigration in general,
we doubt not it wilt ere long 1m the ac
knowledged policy of the whites of Geor
gia, to welcome all immigrants who vol
untarily seek to broomo permanent citi-
sens of this State, but to discountenance
all steps calculated to increase tbclr num
ber. If good men In Europe or the North
desire to exchange their old homes for new
one* in Georgia, they will he promise! and
secured the equal and just protection of
the laws, but in no case will they be en
treated and importuned to make tbe ex-

Herrick, editor of the Atlanta Constilntioo,
died in that city on Friday last. A* better

Major Barrick was honored by the splen
did constituency of bis county, we believe,
for several terms with its representation
in the legislature of the State, and sus
tained the trust with great credit to him
self. But it was as the man of letters, as
scholar and poet, that Mojoi Barrick mast
widely and odvantagtoasly known to us
with whom he hat but recently east his

and devoted adhesion he gave to the cause
