If. Stephens, of-Georgia. K. J. Hale
k Son, Publisher*, 17 Murray Street,
Nc Voi k.
The above is the title of a book to l p
tanned this week, which s destii.ed to
create a sensation. Its author is a
statesman, who, having been id--till"
fied with the history of our Coiiatry
for nearly' two generations, brings to
Ills task an experience such as is p- s-.
8' ssed by few of the v l iters of the age,
and who treats his sul j'-ct in a mam er
at once fascinating ni and instructive.
The book should be in every schnol
reoni, and in every library in the Uni
ted States. It is the Hi tory of the
country, its unmaiued body, and its
peivuding spirit ; a Yale JJ/’cum to
both student and statesman : a neces
sity to every one who wishes to know
wiiat has been done, and why it has
been done, by those who made, and
those who have administered the gov
i-Miment oh these States; to every
C 00l room, that young may learn the
true piineiplsof the government which
was instituted by their forefathers,
and grow np constituents worthy of
representatives. So educate the young,
and there will boa reasonable pros
pect of real reform in tho administra
tion of their govTrnment.
The volume l2ino, 513 pages
with numerous illustrations —is heau
t fully printed, and tu.itefu’ly and
itrongly be nnd. Piice, $1 50. I! not
to be had at the local book store, the
publishers will send it by mail, post
paid, on receipt f /he price.
