While walking around Fairburn we noticed that the town is still improving We accepted an invitati >n to take supper with our old friend S. G. Mr. R. C ummings, Palmetto, Ga —• Dear Sir: Mr. Joseph Smith of this county, an old gentleman in the 73d year of his age, has been for nearly 3 years afflicted with a sore leg, and having tried the skill of the best phy sicians of Barlow, *Fioyd ai.d Gordon counties, and all failing, Dr. Lunt, of Calhoun, told him it would have to be amputated —that nothing else would do. About that time, P. A. Lawcon, a relative of mine, was in our town, and gave Mr. Smith a small vial of your medicine; and the old man found so much relief from it, that I wrote to Mr. Lawson, requesting to procure some more of the medicine for him, — Outlie 27th of Februrry bo brought Mr. Smith a small bottle of the medi ci a\ which the old man has used, and his leg is, to all appearances, entirely well. When lie commenced the use of the medicine, his leg was pei fectly ra w from his knee to midway his foot, ex uding a yellow matter which was al most as sticky as turpentine, emitting a very unpleasant smell. Now the skin is all smooth ami healthy —no swelling about it.
