A northern writer soys that the elec

peace and reconciliation, signify love
among the sections, where bate lias pre

ment of gov( r■ament.'’
Even so; and these ar e truths that
should be remerabuTd by every S- utli
ern voter —especially by eviry Georgia
voter, that In s felt the oppression and
injustice of radical rule. The election .
of Mr. Greeley does not mean that war
animosities are to be revived; it docs
not mean that the Pout! mi people, or
any portion of them, shall bo branded
with treason; but it signifies peace and
reconciliation. On tlie contrary, the
election of Grant, signifies a continu
ance of sectioual legislation detrimental i
to the South.

A great many colerid men were pre
vented from voting at the recent election
on account of the non-payment ol taxes,
and thereby tuo Democratic majority
was swelled to immense proportions.
At the November election the taxes will
all be paid, and almost every “suflrage
slinger” in the State, will cast his ballot
for U. S. Grant and the Radical nomi
nees for Congress. In this district the
negroes have some two thousand major
ity, and they may elect W mrFt.RV unless
the whites turn ont to a man in support
of Gen. Wright. We must not lose this
election through apathy.
