Quitman Uttin Market. — A great
deal of cotton was brought to this mar
ket during the early part of the week,
and tho most of it purchased by our mer
chants. Very little is shipped by tho j
producer. This is owing to the fact, that
our merchants are paying Savannah j
prices for the staple, trusting to a future ,
advance to reimhureo them (or the ex
pense of shipping. Qninnan has no su
perior ns a cotton market, and our friends •
in Jefferson and Madison counties, T lor- ;
Ida, have discovered the fact.
Small Pox. —Wo arc informed that a
telegram, recciv* and in Quifnisu on Satur
day, conveyed the intel. nee that Mr.
John Collins, who f nice ly clerked Im
Messrs. Paine St Halt, is afflicted with]
small pox, in Baltimore, where he had
gone to attend medical noctures.
Valuable Property i-r Sale.—By ref

Old Things Have Away.
This is at least true ol the old method of Ireat
j ing the long 'abused and much abused human
j body. Tt is no longer considered wise to put a
j patient to tho torture in order to cure him of a i
j disease in which paiu is already undermining
j (he energies of lis system. True science ranges J
i itself on the side of nature, and endeavors to j
j assist her in her fight against, "disease. This is j
| the previnc%of Hostetter’s Stomach Dilteis, the
| most approved tonic ever advertised in this
j country. It may bo recommended as a fall
t medicine, par excellence; for it is in the fall
j that biiliousness, dyspepsia and malarious fe
vers are especially prevalent. The frame, ex~
J luiusfed by the heats ol summer, is relaxed and
j feeble at its close, and requires, we may say
j demand s, artificial assistance. Afford it that as
sistance by occasional dose.; of Hostetlers Stom
! aeli Bitters, and the evils referred to may be es* j
caped. Throughout the far West, and on the j
steaming alluvial of the Southern rivers, all the j
varieties of periodical fever ure probably rife i
to-day. Had a course of Hostetler’s Bitters
been commenced by the sufferers a month ago,
i. 0., before the unhealthy season set in. seven
| eights of them would in all probability be in
their usual health at the present timo. So much
for want of forecaste. So much for not keeping
in the house, and using daily, the best safe
guard against epidemic and epidemic fevers.
