During the year 1873, no expense of time, la
bor, and money will be spent to keen the Mokn
ino News ahead of all competitors in Georgia
journalism, and to deserve the Haltering encomi
ums heaped upon it from nil quarters. There
ha", as yet, been no serious attempt made to ri
val the special telegrams which the News innu
gurated some years ago, and •ho consequence is,
that the reader in search of the latest intelligence
always looks to the Morning News. Tin- tele
graphic arrangements of the paper are such tlmt
the omissions made by the general press reports
are promptly and reliably suplled by its special
correspondents.
The Morning News has lately been enlarged
to a thirty six column paper, and this broad
scope of type embraces, daily, everything of In
terest fchat.transpires in thedoma nos Literature,
Art, Science, Politics, Religion, and General In
telligence: giving to the reader more and better
digest matter than any other paper in the fate
Tt is. perhaps needless to speak of the politics
of the Morning News. For years and years—in
deed, since its establisement— it has been a re
presentative Southern paper, and from that
time to the present, in all conjunctures, it has
consistently and persisteutly maintained Demo
cratic States Rights principles, and labored, with
an ardor and devotion that know no abatement,
to promote and preserve the interests and honor
of the South.
The special features of the Morning News will
be retained and i nproved upon dating the ensu
ing year, and several new attractions will bo
added.
The Georgia News items, with their quaint
and pleasant humor, mid the epitome of Florida
affairs, will be continued during the year. The
local department, will lx*, as it has been for the
past year, the most complete and reliable to bo
found in any Savannah paper, and the cummer
j clal columns will be full and accurate.
