' Hymeneal,—On . last Thursday, at

j , "
father, Ly the Rev. L. IL Gwaltney,
Dn. J. B. S. Holmes to Miss Addie M.
Allgood, of Chattooga county.
The bridal party came in town to
j the residence of Dr. G. W. Holmes,
where everything was in readiness to
give them an elegant reception, and
where a large number of their friends
had assembled to offer their congratu
lations. This is by far the most ele
gant affair of the season, including the
rich waiter of cake and other delica
cies of which we were made the grate
ful recipient. We are pleased to chron
icle the success of the matrimonial
i hopes of our friend, the Doctor, ami
we hope that his now golden prospects
may never be blasted. Dr. Holmes is
j a rising physician of this city, and
though comparatively young is already
numbered among the first of his pro
fession in Rome. The path-way of
this couple is all sunshine—may they
never be compelled to walk in the
shadow of adversity is our earnest
wish.

THE ATLAXTA CONSTITUTION.
We see in this sterling paper
a notice from the proprietors of
the Atlanta Daily Sun, on tlie.
occasion of the consolidation of
that paper with the Constitution,
in which they transfer their busi
ness and good will to the latter
paper. We also notice a card
, from lion. A. H. Stephens, from
which we are informed that that
gifted and well known writer will
address his numerous friendes on
subjects of political interest, giv
ing his views on the various issues
that may come before the public,
through the columns of this old
and well-known newspaper. It
makes us truly glad to have the
satisfaction of Knowing that we
shall not lose this influential mem
ber from the ranks of Georgia
I Journalism.
By this arrangement the Consti
tution is able to pi'esent to adver
tisers advantages in the w’ay of
j circulation that arcsecond to none
in the South, except, perhaps, the
Louisville Courier-Journal. The
i
j subscribers of the Sun will here
after receive the former paper.
Hymeneal.—Ou the evening
of the 24tli instant, our excellent
and well-known fellow-citizen,
Maj. John T. Bukns, united his
destiny with that of Miss Har
ris, the beautiful and accom
plished daughter of Col. Eugene
M. Harris, at the residence of the
bride’s father in Athens, Ga.
It affords us untold pleasure to
be able to record the union of
these two loving hearts, and all
who know them will unite with
us in congratulating the happy
pair on the fulfillment of their
hopes. May the winds of adver
sity blow lightly across their path
way, and their prospects be al
ways as bright and their wishes
meet with as speedy gratification
as has heretofore attended them.

The startling drawback on nearly all me
dicinal agents has ever been that in their
process of purgation and purification they
have also debilitated the system. To obvi
ate this difficulty physiciius have long
sought for an agent that would
PURGE, PURIFY & STRENGTHEN
AT ONE AND THE SAME TIME.
Their research has at last been rewarded
by a discovery which fully realizes the
for.dest desires of the medical faculty, and
which is ju.-tiy regarded as the most im
portant triumph that Pharmacy has ever
achieved. This important desideratum is
DR. TUTTS VEGETABLE LIVER PILL.
Which nurify the blood and remove all
corrupt humors and unhealthy accumula
tions from the body, and yet produces no
weakness or lassitude whatever, but on the
contrary tones the stomach, invigorates the
body during the progress of the operation.
They unite the heretofore irreconcilable
qualities of a Strengthening Purgative
and a Pulufying Tonic.
Dr- Tutt's Pills are the most active
and searching medicine in existence. They
at once attack the very root of diseases,
and their action is so prompt that in as
hour or two after they are taken the pa
tient is aware of their good effects. They
may be taken at any time without restraint
of diet or occupation ; they produce neither
nausea, griping or debility, and as a fam
ly medicine they have no rival.
Price 25c a box. Sold by all druggists.
Office IS and 20 Platt St., New York.
Is tlie most powerful eleatiser, s»r«*ngthener
mill remrivi-r of Glamlular Ob.-tnieiioiis known to Ma
teri t Mriitcn.
It is specially adapted to constitutions “worn
down” aud debilitated by ihe warm weathet of Spring
and Summer, when the blood is not in circulation,
consequently, gathering impurities from sluggishness
and imperfect action of the secretive organs, and is
manifested by Tumors, Eruptious, Blotches, boils,
Pustules, Scrofula, &c.
When weary and languid from overwork and
dullnes-, drowsiness and inertia take the place of ener
gy an I vigor, the sys’em needs a Tonic to build it up
and help the vital forces to regain their recuperative
power.
In lie heat of Summer frequently the Liver at:d
Spleen do not properly perfojtn thetr functions; the
Tterine and Urinary organs are inactive, producing
weakness of the stomach ami intestines and a predispo
sition tn bilious derangement.

GETTYSBURG
KATALYSINE WATER.
The United States Dispensatory.—
the authorized record of our Materia Mcdi
ca—classes this water with the most re
nowned of the Alkaline or Carbonated
Springs of Europe. It far excels any other
known in its self-preserving properties. It
does not deteriorate by bottling and keep
ing. While we believe it will be difficult if
at all, to find a well-authenticated cure of
chronic disease by any other natural miner
al water away from its source, thousands
of the most remarkable cures have been
effected by the Katalysine Water after it
had been bottled and sent from the spring.
Certainly it is not claimed for any other
mineral water in the Old or New World
the power to dissolve the urates or so-called
chaik stones in the body or on the limbs
and joints. This the Gettysburg Kataly
sine Water has done in hundreds of instan
ees.
Gout, Rheumatism, Neuralgia, Dyspep
sia, Gravel, Diabetes. Kidney and Urinary
diseases generally have yielded to its influ
ence.
It has restored muscular power to the
Paralytic, cured Abdominal Dropsy, and
given healthy action to the torpid Liver.
Chronic Diarrhoea, Piles, Constipation,
Asthma, Bronchitis. Catarrh, Diseases of
the Skin, General Debility and Nervous
Prostration from mental and physical ex
cesses, have all disappeared under the in
fluence of this great
MEDICINE OF NATURE
It is a powerful antidote to the effects of

the stomach, promotes digestion and
relieves the head almost immediately.
