A Card ftom Admiral Marin.
New Orleans, March 31.—General
Marin, of the steamers Miramon and
Marquez, has published a card in the
city papers, signing himself Admiral of
the Mexican navy. He protests against
the capture of his steamers, and says
that neither, the Saratoga, Indinnola or
Wavm showed their flags when they
S clied him. He knew that the
61a and Wave belonged to Jua
rez, and supposed that, they were tow
ing armed boats, to attack him, and
hence his attempt to escape. Two shots
were fired at him, which he returned,
when he recognised the Saratoga, and
ordered the firing to ceaso. The attack
was, however, continued with the result
already known. Gen. Marin says he
purchased the steamers at Havana/rom
merchants residing there, by order of
the Supreme government of Mexico.—
The steamers were to have been nation
alized on their reaching Mexico, in
case they proved worthy.—Memphit

The consequenoe is that the cultivation

Chills and Fever!—One of the
remedies that has ever been laid bet _
'public for Fever and Ague, and- which hare
received the highest onconium from the press
and the people, is Dr. J. Hostetter’s Celebra
ted Bitters. Who would endure the tortures
arising from this terrible disease, when It can
be so easily cured 7 Who would endure sleep
less nights, burning ferers and lor chills al
ternately, when, a remedy can be obtained
for a mere trifle ? And yet bow many families
