Something New.—Wo take the follow

It is not' generally known, says the
Selma Reporter, that there Is consider
able trade carried on trom Rome, Ga.,
to Greenesboro, Ala., on the river.—
There are several steamboats plying reg
ularly between those two points, carrying
freight and passengers.
It is pretty generally known in this Sec
tion that an extensive boating trade has
boon carried on betwfien Rome and
Greensport, Ala., for several yeors, but
we never before knew that we hud river

0@y“A few days since, while the girls
at St. Charles Hotel, Syracuse, were
washing out the dining room, the head
waiter acoidenllly flirted somo water
over the spotless pantaloons of a well
dressed gentleman, who stood on the
sidewalk opposite the window. The
enraged beau immediately jumped in at
the waiter, but tho girls stuck to their
colors, and acttacking tho assailant
with their mops and brooms, soon con-

Bobber—Recovery of the Money.
Montgomebv, June 21.—The trial of
Ma’roney, a former agent of the Adams
Express, at this place for the stealing of
fifty thousand <|pllar&, has just been
concluded; During the progress of the
(rial, on the disclosure of tho evidence
his counsel induced him to plead guilty,
llo (Maroney) was immediately senten
ced by J udge Shorter to ten years in the
Penitentiary.
It transpires that tlie money was re
covered last August, by the aid of Allen
Pinkerton’s detective agency, of Chica
go ; and what is mot'6 surprising, tho
culprit did not know that the company
had possession of the money ; or that it
was-not still in the hands of his confed
erate, until confronted in tho Court with
the detectivO and the stolen money.—
The history of this case discloses one of
tlie boldest robberies, and ono of the.
most remarkable ouses of detection in
the record of crimes in this country.—
Tho facts implicate the wife of Muro-
ney, and other parties, who had huried
the money, in an obscure place near
Philadelphia. Thoy will doubtless be
brought to justice.

New Medical Salt
IS NOT A CURB ALL.
FOR INFLAMATORY DISEASES ONLY
D R. COGGSWELL’S New Medical Saif
instead of being a remedy for all ills,
k.,s control over but one ill, has but oue aim,
and accomplishes but one thing, to wit; Sub
dues iuflamatory.Diaeasos—whatever be its
form or locality, whether in the head, throat,
abdomen, extremities or skin.
Tho peculiar excoilonco of the New Medi
cal Salt is, that without the useless loss of
bleed aud strongth, it effectually cures In-
floiufttorv Disoasos (no others) by producing
an equilibrium of all the fluids in tho body,
the want of which is the sole Cause of in
flammation.
Invalids, Tako Notice! — The following
forms which the unbalanced fluids assuma
nnd mnnv not hero mentioned, that have
moro or less fever and p da, are easily sub
dued by tlie New Medical Salt as fire it ex
tinguished by water, to wit: Brain Fever.
Headache, Rush of Blood to the Head snd
Heart, Fits, Inflamed Eyes, Ears and Nose.
Cankor, Neuralgia, Spinal Affectious, Ery-
sipolns, Bronchitis, Pleurisy, Asthma, In-
flamod Lungs and Liver, Heartburn, Coughs,
Dyspepsia, Venorinl Diseases, Rheumatism,
Gout Sorefula, Salt Rheum, and all Itching
and other cutaneous eruptions.
Dr. Coggswell’s New Medical Salt exerts
like the vaccine matter, nu extraordinary in
fluence over the Tcins nnd arteries, resulting
in a gradual declining of inflammation ns in
dicated by the pulse, which soon returns to
Its natural state, as the heat, pain and fever
disappear.
Dr, Coggswell’s New Medical Salt does just
what it elaitns to do no more no loss—equal
ises the fluids by romeving from tho system
all arterial and venous obstructions. Descrip
tive Circulars may be obtained front any
