Gmi Conuty* Agricultural' Fair.
Several of our citizens were In at*
tendance at the Cass County Fair lost
week and all concur in pronouncing it
a first rate good exhibition, especially
excelling all former ones in the number
and fine qualities of the Horses that
were entered. The good fruits of the
noble emulation excited by these an*
:nual exhibitions are already becoming
■evident even to careless observers.—
How long will it be before Floyd county
■can boast of a well organized Agricul
tural Society! Could hot 'Floyd, Polk'
and Chattooga counties unite and form
a society that wbulil rival, at least, the
.State society in its present organization?
This subject deserves the consideration ■
of our enterprising planters. "
At the recent Cass county Fair, the

given for Lincoln and Hamlin on..one
side, and for Bell and Everett on the
Qttyir, but there wasgiot any fighting.—
In A few mfeutes, stones were thrown

in sufficient fotoe to drive off the Bell
and Everett men, and did so for a con
siderable distance) up. Broad street,—
Orders were then sent to the Bell and
Everett headquarters for rotnforce-
ments, which, upon arriving succeeded
in beating back the rioters. A running
fight followed,.in which brickbats and
stones were thrown and pistols were
fired. A few policemen were on the
ground when the attack was made, but
they did not remain.
Finally, after more than an' hour’s
hard fighting, the Bell and Everett men
were driven off and the meeting broken
up. The officers and speakers were
stoned and pelted with rotten eggs, and
after they were obliged to. leave, the
stage was demolish^..' Reports were
current thutseveral me'h’tvei-e shot, and
from the number of . reports of pistols
they were no doubt true,.but the names
