man named Parker, a well-digger, for
merly of Henry county, Ala., had been
tampering with slaves belonging to Mr.
ItobiiTson, of Quitman county. Mr.
Robinson hail Parker engaged in dig
ging a well, when his overseer having
occasion to correct a negro woman,
Parker tendered his sympathies, and
told her to set fire to the house and
then*.come to hint und he would help
her to get to a free State—that she was
8 good as the white folks. Mrs. Rob
in ion overheard the conversation, and
informed Iter husband of it, whereupon
Parker decamped, but was pursued
with' hounds and caught some fifteen
miles below Georgetown. He under
went his trial yesterday, and our infor
mant thinks it very probable that lie

Fugitive Slave Case In Ohio.
Cincinnati, Sept. 23.—On Thursday
last Ihe United States Marshal, accom
panied by two deputies and eight or ten
men, went to Iberia, Morrow.county,
Qiiio, with warrants to arrest three
slaves, brothers, who ran away from
Germantown, Ky., about four months
since. One negro was captured by the
Marshal. After an examination before
Oppimissioner Newhnll, ho was remand
ed to the custody. of his former . mas
ter.

a crowd of sixty or seventy negroes ana
white men armed with guns and pis
tols. His clothes were torn off, his war
rant And money taken, and an attempt
wns'raado to hangahd then toshoot him.
After cuttiiig his hair off close, they al
lowed him to depart without tho negro.
The deputy was fired upon while at
tempting to arrest tho third negro, and
returned'the fire, shooting the fingers
off of one of the rioters, but was oblig
ed to leave without securing his pris'

with Cancer of the under lip since February
‘eighteen hundred and fifty-nine, and under

fered a great deal of pain, frequently aonld

Dr, Blake being absent from New York. Up
on my arrival there I was relieved of all my
cancer pains in about two hours, and hare
not had any pains since. I consider myself
well at this time. I became acquainted with
Dr. Blake before I left New York. I consid-
him and Dr. Hadley well skilled in thetrnre-
fession and gentlemen of the highest- order,
