SYMPTOMS OF WORMS.
T HE countenance is pale and 'caden-
colored, with occasional flushes, or a cir
cumscribed spot oh one or both cheeks; the
eyes become dull; the pupils dilate; M
azure semicircle runs along the lower eye
lid; the nose is irritated, swells, and some
times bleeds; a swelling of the Upper
occasional headache, with humming of
throbbing of the ears; an unusual secretion
of saliva; slimy or furred tongue; blfiaffl
very foul, particularly in the morning; ap
petite variable, sometimes voracious; with a
knawing sensation of the stomach, at others,
entirely gone; fleeting pains in the stomach;
occasional nausea and vomiting; violent
pains throughout the abdomen; bowels ir
regular, at times costive; stools slimy; not
unfrequcntly tinged with blood; belly swol
len and hard; urine turbid; respiration oc
casionally difficult, and accompanied by
hiccough; cough sometimes dry and convul
sive; uneasy and disturbed sleep, with
grinding of the teeth; temper variable, but
generally irritable, &c.
