SAFE and certain cure for coughs, colds Croup, Asthma, Consumption, of the Dungs, spitting of Blood, Bronl-hiti,s Hooping, cough, and all Pulmonary Affections. A Lovely Young Lady Cured of Consumption The following is from the pen of Wm. H Levison, Esq., the distinguished editor of- the U. S. Military and Naval Argus, under date of New York, January, 1850. What could be more conclusive? “It is seldom we permit qurseves to occupy space in these colun ns to speak in praise of ny article in the patent medicine way; but when we see the life of, a fellow creature saved by the use of any medicine whatever, we con sider it as our right, if not our duty, to give a statement of facts, that others may, in like manner, be .benefitti-d. 7'he case which has induced us to pen this article was that of a young lady of our acquaintance, who by fre quent exposure to the night air, contracted a cold which settled on the Lungs before its rav ages could he stayed. (This occurred two years ugo this winter.) Various remedies were used hat with very little effect or benefit. The Cough grew worse, with copious expectora tion, and the sunken eye, and pale, hollow cheek, told plainly that pulmonary disease was doing its worst on her delicate frame. The family physician was consulted, and although he would not admit to the young lady that she really had the Consumption, yet he w ould give no encouragement as to a cure. At this crisis her mother was persuaded to make use of a bottle of Dr. Rogers’ Compound Syrup of Liverwort and Tar, and we are happy to state she was perfectly cured in less than three months by this medicine alone, after even hope was destroyed. It is useless to comment on • such a case as this, for the simple truth will reach where polished fiction never can. If any doubt the authenticity of this statement, let them call at this office.— V. S. Military and Naval Argus, No. 19 Chatham street, N. Y TESTIMONIE OF THE N. Y. PRESS From the N. Y. Courier, Aug. 13,1850. De. Rogers’ Steup of Liverwort u Tar —We have heard of several important cures recently effected by this excellent medicina. preparation, and in one instancetlmt came Tjn- - der our observation, we can speak confidently One of our employees, w ho had suffered se verely from a long* standing cold, during the past week comriieneed the use of this medi cine, and his cold has entirely disappeared. „ From the N. Y. Mirror, Sept. 2, 1859. Liverwort and Tar.—Of the virtues of Dr. Rogers’Cough Medicines prepared from the above articles, it is needless now to speak; its etficaey in speedily curing Coughs, Colds, and other lung complaints, which too frequeut- ly, if neglected, result in Consumption, is too well established in public confidence to need eulogy now.
