The death of Mr \V. YY\ Arnold, one of
the members from lhke was announce by
his colleague, Mr. Trice. After passing the
usual resolutions, the House adjourned for
the day; similar notice was taken of the
announcement by the Senate.
Nov’ 29. Senate.—Mr. Dunnegau, a Un
ion democrat introduced the following reso
lution.
Resolved by the General Assembly of the
State of Gergiu, That we approve of and
concur in the sentiments and principles
maintained by Andrew Jackson in his Proc
lamation of the lith December, 1892, and
in his Special Message to llie Congress of
the United States, transmitted January the
KUb, 1833, (in reference to an ordinance
passed by the Slate of SoUlU Carolina, de
daring it to be the constitutional right of
the State to secede from the Union of the
other States, peaceably if she might be per
mitted, but forcibly if the provisions of said
ordinance should be resisted,) as being the
only correct principles that can secure the
permanency and stability of the Union of
these United Stales and perpetuate our na
tionality—the only might hope of the con
tinuance of liepublicaii Coverinnent.
On motion of Mr. Miller, 108 copies
were ordered to be printed.
Mr. Singleton reported a bill to lay out
a new county from the counties of Lumpkin
Gilmer, Cherokee and Forsythe.

SALT—There lias been no arrival cflliis ar
ticle during the week. It continues to be sold

ILtfCON—This article continues to he much
neglected, and the sales are confined to small

LIME—We hear of sales during the week of
some 250 casks al $1 124 per cask, from the
wharf.

The Judiciary committee made a second
report which was adverse to the bill tor ex
tending the jurisdiction in Justices Courts.

all persons apprehending runaway slaves to

Dec. 2nd. House.—The bill to layout a
new county from Stewart was passed. It is
to be called Kinchafoonee.
The Senate bill to form a new county
from Elbert and Franklin, to be called Hart,
was passed.
Mr. Durden reported a bill to remove the
obstructions in the Big and Little Ohoopie
Rivers.
