selling, and showing an advancing tendency

the Arctic's foreign advices, i'he sales of cot
ton in tlie Liverpool market for the week ending
on tlie 2d insf., comprised 45,000 bales, of which
speculator* and exporters took 9,000 bales' The
quotations remained unchanged for tlie week,
Fuir Orleans being quoted 61*1, and Fair Uplands
at 6jjd, The only effect ot this news was to
ireute an active uemaiid in our market, which
resulted in the sale of 2.203 bales, viz: 41 at 7J,
6 at 7$, 38 at 8J, 46 at 8£, 66 at fc’jj, 19 at Igy
al 9, 65 at Uj. 315 at 94, 57 al 9j{, 323 at 9j, Geo
