to his mother—but expressed a doubt
about using any portion of the money.
His mother confirmed his good resolu
tion—the pocket book was advertized,
and the owner found. Being a man
of wealth, and uniting with that a gen
erous heart, upon learning the condi
tion of the family be presv nted tlie 50
dollars to the sick mother, and took

one of the most successful merchants
in the State of Ohio. Honesty always

county of Lawrence while out fishing

eral with the intention of using then,
as bait, and put them in his hat for
safekeeping, when one of them stung
him on the head, causing the effect-
above stated.

A Great Rain-
On Monday alternoou of last in k, it began to
rain about one o'clock, and in little -uore tiiau an

Wednesday morning about 41/ Hours, during which

This looks like making up lor lost time, as we
prognosticated in the Spring. Look out for July
and August. Considerable damage has teen done

high water.
