Red Flames of the Sun.—During
the recent session of the American Sci
entific Association, Professor Henrv
•gave some curious facts, concerning the
existence of the red flames, < -r colored
projections from.the'edge of the sun,
as observed during solar eclipses. The
sun resembled at such times, he said,
when viewed under oertain.conditions,
a circle of light surrounded by cloven
tongues of fire:
