TO JIMMIE
One year ago to-day sweet boy,
Since last you left our side,
And parted from nehere below,
On angels wings to glide.
Much saddor and drearer it mast be
7’o die out in the eold,
No loving hand to smooths thy brow
Asia the days of old.
It always aeemed to me that death
Would lots quite half its terrors,
If we could die with some kind friend,
(While we peas the ordeal,) near at.
Not so with you dear boy it waa,
But out in the oold, cold night,
The angel of God came and gave yon reel,
And your beautiful soul took flight.
By one who felt his lose.
