nitrate of soda per acre about tbe

ton seed may take the place entire
ly of tbe cotlon meal, with the risk
of their germinating, which injures
their effectiveness more or less, at
the rate of eight bushels of seed
instead of each 100 pounds of cot
ton meal.
SOWING OATS.
The same dates of sowing, the
same fertilizer, etc., will apply
equally to oats, with the advantage
in favor of the latter that they are
not at all particular about soils.
