President Holt of the First National
Bank of Sandersville has recently been
in correspondence with some of the lead
ing insoranoe men of the state, and es
pecially with those who have the mak
ing of the rates of insnrance, with a
view of having redactions made on the
rates for property in Sandersville. He
has reoeived encouraging replies and
anthoriz.es the Progress to state that
parties representing the Southeastern
Tariff Association will soon be in San-
dersville for the purpose of making snob
redactions as we are entitled to under
oar excellent system of water works,
which has on more than one ocoasion
proven its effloienoy in fighting against
the devouring flames whioh threatened
to destroy whole blocks of houses. San-
dersville, he olaims, should have had
this redaction when the water works
system was pat in operation uearly two
years ago, and some effort has alraady
been made along this line. It is now be
lieved that as soon as the proper insur
ance officials shall see the equipment
there will be a considerable decrease in
the rates, and this will be accomplished
as speedily as possible.
