EDITED HV MISS LOUISE SULLIVAN-
A Lover to His Love.
When I look into thine eyes,sweetheart 1
Those pure, sweet eyes of thine,
I can fed in answer to their light
An echoing light in mine.
All that’s good in me arises
At that spirit dill from thee,
As the shell forever answers
To the music of the sea.
When you raise your eyes to mine,
dear love,
Your child-like, trusting eyes,
Like a chord of music wavers back
It’s echo, ere it dies ;
As the lake reflects the stars
In its waters, fair or foul—
So the music of thy spirit, dear,
Finds echo in my soul.
When I look Into thine eyes, sweetheart,
Those dear deep, mystic eyes,
With the light of love and innocence
Timt in their blue depths lies,
I can feel a tender yearning rise—
So deep it saddens mo—
•lust to keep them always as they are
In their young purity.'
