One of the most brilliant di-plays of

GRAND CONCERT.
On Wednesday night the 10th, of Octo
ber, the first night ol the fair, there will be
a grind concert and dramatic entertain
ment given by young ladies and gentle
uien of Talbotton. They are preparing
something good and the public may expect
to be delighted. The proceeds of the en
tertainment will be given to a benevolent
object.

The exercises are very interestiru ;,I'<
and the preaching has been pvet.a The
openiug sei-aGu by B-v. R. H Bullock,
on Saturday morning was pronounced by
all who heard it,a sup rb effort. Saturday
night Rev. A. D. Atkinson, preached a
powerful sermon. He was pastor of onr
Baptist chinch many years ago. Sunday
at 10 o'clock Rev. A. B. Campbell, preach
ed the VB..bionary strmon at. the Baptist
church, and Dr. Battle filled the Methodist
pulpit. We heard Mr. Campbell's sermon
and it was one of the grandest missionary
appeals tve ever listened to. The young
and eloquent divine held his audience spell
bound for nearly two hours upon the in
teresting and lovely theme of “the spread
ing of Christ's “Gospel. ’* The sermon vas
well receivod and did great good. Those
who attended the Methodist church say
that Dr. Battle preached one ot the most
splendid discourses they ever listened to.

meetine was held and it was very interest
ing. D l '. Battle, R. H. Bullock, and. Mr.
Irwin made addresses.
The sermon of Rev. Mr. Itardin, at the
Baptist church on Sunday night, was a
great effort. He is a splendid pulpit ora
tor.
The exercises of tho Association yester
day were all fine and well attended. They
closed for the session last night. Onr peo
ple have all been highly delighted.

one which demands at our hands the most

my deliberate judgement that the adoption

ihe interests ot all the people ot the com
mon country:
Ist. The immediate repeal of the act of
Congress known as the r< sumption act.
2d. The unconditional tepeal of tho na
tional banking system, and tau substitution
of United States treasury notes in tho place
of national bank notes, which should bo
receivable for all dues public and privrio.
3d. The coinage of gold and silver should
ii"! b.' restricted.
4th. No further sale or increase of 1>
bonded debt of the United States.

should he paid in the currency contemplated
at tho time ol their issue without velbrenc**
to legislation which in fraud ot tlu* rights of
the taxpayers, lias sought to impose discrim
inating, unjust and unconstitutional bur
