Several citizens of McDuffie County
having petitioned for anew public road,
commencing at Thomson, and runing
via Mrs. Sam. Wilson’s, and from thence
to the Greensboro road where the Gib
son road intersects it ; and asking a dis
continuance of the road as it now runs
from Thomson via R. S. Lazenby’s
plantation to-the intersection the Gib
son and Greensboro roads; and Com
missioners having been appointed to
view and mark aaid contemplated new
road, and report on the expediency of
discontinuing the old road, as above
named, and they having marked out the
new road, and reported that the public
utility and safety require that the old
road, as it now runs, be discontinued
and the new road established :
All persons are therefore notified that
on the sth day of January 1873, the
Petition for said contemplated new
road will be granted, and said old road
discontinued by an Order from this
Court, unless good cause is shown to
the contrary.

TTNDER and by virtue of an order
granted by Hon. Win. Gibson,
Judge of the Superior Courts, of Augus
ta Circuit, on the 25th August, IS7I,
and of record in the Clerk’s office of
Superior Couit, of Richmond county,
Gn., will be sold, at public out-cry to
the highest bidder, at the Court House
at Thomson, McDuffie county, Ga., be
tween the usual hours, on the first
Tuesday in-January, 1573, the undivi
ded one-half interest in and to the fol
lowing real estate and improvements
thereon, to-wit:
All that tract or parcel of land in
| said county of McDuffie, near the town
of Deanng, Ga., containing 1,446 acres,
more or less, and adjoining lands now
owned by John Harris, the Georgia
Railroad and Banking Company, Lavina
Crosby, John Walker and others.
The improvements consist of a fine
residence, containing eight rooms; two
store shops, farm houses and other
necessary buildings.
The Georgia Railroad runs through
this tract of land and lias right of way
as delineated on map.
The other undivided half interest
was sold about a year ago to B. B.
Miller, Esq., at $14,000, and has been
by him bargained to Robert J. Morrison.
