Chemical Paints, so railed, have proven failures ; simply because the chemistry o*
their manufacture seems to consist in the quantity of water that is combined with the
paint, by the addition of nu Alkali, either Potaxh, Limi\or Soda, Ac.,
Chemical Paints containing water peel, from the wood, are not economical,
becati e they will not cover as much surface us Pure Paint it.
Chemical Paints weigh from Hi to 10 lbs. per gal.- this indicates only n small quan
tity of paint to the gallon. As Liiwted Oil weighs 7J lbs. and Water 8 lbs. per gallon.
Soda. Lime Water, or any Alkali mixed with oil is the same nature as Soft Soap, whieli
with the addition of White Lead and water could be termed a Chemical Puiut. '
Pure Paints weigh IJ to 14 lbs. per gallon, ure Economical, and when properly
made, arc the most durable.
We offer our Prepared Paint with the guarantee that it is not a Chemical Paint;
contains no Water, no Alkali, no adulteration, and is made of only such materials as are
used by the oldest painters. Our Paint will cover more surfaco than any Chemical Paint
in the World.
We authorize their sale, subject to the satisfaction of all buyers. We agree to re
paint any house with English IJB White Lead, or any other White Lead, if our Paints do
not prove perfectly satisfactory.
