Paschal, of Tatham, spent Monday in
Thomson.
Miss Annie lion Heckle, after a pleas
ant visit to Augusta, relumed Saturday.
Mrs. T. Harry Oates aud her litile sou
Harry, are visiting Mrs. M. A. McLean.
Mr. and Mrs. Oates wilt iu the future
make their home in Atlanta.
Miss Margaret Hobby, of Columbia
county, came up on a visit to Mth. Clara
Lazeuby on Thursday.
Miss Ola Larkin, who has been visit
ing Miss Mabel Shields, returned home
Tuesday.
Miss lielel Shields, after a delightful
visit of two weeks in Aatanta, returned
home Friday.
Deputy Marshal Hose had a straggle
with moonshiuers ia Wilkes county last
woek. lie captured one, but, owing to
the dislocation of Deputy M trhal White
ly's ankle iu the fight, two others, who
were implicated, escaped.
Miss Jefsie Neat has returned from
Atlanta. Mias Annie Nghl remains in
the city and will attend Miss Hanna’s
school.
Mrs. E. S. Harri-wo, Br., went to At
lanta lost week to be treated for cataract
of the eyes. Her friends will be glad to
know that the op* ration performed by
Dr. A. W. Calhoun was entirely suoces
ful, and, by it, her sight partially re
stored.

gone out to Cohbham and vicinity on a
visit to relatives.

last Suuday Dr. King did not preach at
the eveuiug service at the Methodist
Chnrcb. After the c immnuiou was ad

meeting.
Services especially designed fot the
old people will be held at the Methodist
church on the third Sunday of this
month. The Pastor requtsts that con
veyances be sent for those who live too
far from the chnrcb or are too feeble
to walk.
Harry Lee, of Sioux Fall*, S. D„
passed through Thomson, Friday on his
bicycle. He is striving to win a remark
able wager. He is to travel 20,000 miles
around the United State's aud get marri
ed all within 15 months to win $3,000.
He was allowed 10 days extra time for
bis oourtship and marriage. He stared
from Washington, D. C., September 13,
stopped in Savaouah to win and wed,
which he aceomp’iihed in 7 days, and
has now traveled over 1,600 miles of his
long journey.

Mrs. Patia Watson is very sick at her
, home in Dearing, but we hope she will soon
i be up again.
Mr. S. M. Haywood speut a few days in
Augusta with his sister-in-law, Mrs. J. 13.
Lambert, this week.
Mrs. J. D. Watson returned home Tues
day after ten days of pleasure at the State
Fair. On her way homo she spent a few
days with friends at Olarkstowon, and also
a day or two at Buckhead.
Mr. L. B. McNair made a business trip to
Augusta this week.
Mr. Win. Fitzgerald, of Harlem, spent
Sunday last in Dealing Biue eyes brought
; him.
Mr. W. 8. Clark, of our town, spent Sun
day last very pleasantly in Norwood, and
one of Thomson's bine eyed daughters was
the attraction.
Miss Daisy Watson went to Atlanta to
the Fair, but was 'aken sick and hai to re
turn home, much to the regret ot her many
Atlauta frieud*.
Mrs. George Hunt, of Augusta, speut last
week with relatives in Dearing,
Mr. A. S. Adams has returned from a
visit to Atlanta anti other poiuts of interest
Mr. J. L. Atkiusou, of Thomson, was in
Dearing last week, to erect a tombstone iu
our cemetery. He was accompanied by his
daughter, Miss Annie Mae. uho spent the
day pleasantly at the home of air. Juck

few days last week with her aunt, Mrs, A.
S. Adams, iu Dearing,
Messrs. W. T. Haywood and J. Duvall
