INCREASE OF THU IVOOI. TRADE.
The London journal devoted to tlie
wool trade says tlmt “there are few
things connected witli tlie mardli of
civilization during tins century” more
remarkable than tlie growth of tlie
woolen Industry of the world. This
growth, which has been Chiefly since
1830, is due to the development of the
United States and the growth of tlie
British colonics in a great measure.
In 1830 the total wool clip was 320,000
000 pounds. In 1878, the last year for
which complete figures can he aggre
gated, tlie clip was 1,000,000,000
pounds, or more than five times as
much, and yielding 800,000,000 potiutls
of clean-scoured fleeces. Previous to
1830 seven-eighths of tlie worlds sup
ply came from Europe, In 1878 Eu
rope yielded 740,000,000 pounds, or
less than half, tin: United Btiitcs 208,-
010,000 pounds, or twenty times as
much as in 1830, tlie River Plata 240,-
000,000 pounds, Australia 300,000,000
pounds, and Mouth Africa 48,000,000
pounds. “The tendency,” says tlm
Loudon Wool, “is to increase and im
prove the, wool product by Improving
breeds of sheep and improving modes
of cleansing, combing, sorting and
rinsing wools. This industry now
employs a large amount of capita),
and find work for 813,0 k) hands and
12,000,000 spindles. France takes the
most of the unsecured wools from tlie
Plata country, which only turn out
30 per cent, of washed wool, while
Great Britain consumes the native
and Australian fleeces.”

We ure happy t:> state that this reme
dy gives better satisfaction than any
article we sell. We have been selling
it since 1803, and witnessed many re
markable cures by it. Among others
there was a lady friend of ours who
was sallow and sickly until she was
twenty-six years old when she was
married. Her husband lived two years
and died. She continued iu Dad
health; iu fact she has never been
what woman ought to lie. A few
months after the death of her husband
she saw your advertisement, and came
to our store and bought a bottle of
your Regulator from us, and took it
according to directions. It has cured
her sound and well, brought her regular
monthly periods on, and to-day Bhe is
a hearty, blooming widow—with the
use of but two bottles of your Regula
tor. costing her only three dollars,
when she has tried several physicians
and spent a great deal of money with
out any benefit. Wishing you great
success with your valuable remedies,
we are respectfully yours, etc.,
