A man named Trfliaon and two or

while drinking in Millcdgevtllw last

the parties got out of town the
quarrel was renewed when the Mc-

him instantly. Four men have been

Last Sunday the Atlanta Constitu
tion published a very interesting ar
ticle on the wealthy people of Now
York. It would astonish almost any
one to know the number of there
wealthy people, and the extent df
their wealth. There are four or five
hundred of these people who are mil
lionaires, and setme of them worth
near a hundred millions each. We
have nothing more to sly of t|mn
than we hope they will enjoy their
wealth. Tho newspapers of our state
made tho search a few years ago, and
in all Georgia they could not find a
man who was worth a million dol
lars ; and we doubt if they could find
one now. Georgia along with every
other state in the Union pays heavy
tribute to the city of New York, and
in many way* that are altogether un
necessary. Here is just one of tiie in
numerable falso idea* that our people
persist in adhering to.
It is a well known fact that nmhy
cotton factories iu Georgia ship goods
to New York, nd that Georgia ue,r
ebants, who live in a stone’s throw
of these factories, go to New York,,
buy these very goods and ship them
back. It wilt net lake a Solomon to
tee that this is a ruinous ami suicidal
policy. Of course the w hoiesale mer
chant* and the Shipping lines make
money by this operation and our peo
ple are the ouos who lose. AM pf#ld*|
