' All things considered wo believo
that Governor Cleveland, of New

A Mammoth Wrbt Ton Prlntm# P*a
(From tha hmmti Mornlug lfsw, Jana J,. ISSt.)
Tho new lithographic press which
has fust been erected in the Mohhlno
Haws Steam Printing House deserves
netlce from !t,a being the only pres* ef
the kind in the South and to the lar
gest thee in use. In addition to the
many perfecting arrangement* used
on other machines the Campbell
Printing Press and Manufacturing
Company have added many Improve
ments of their own, which make U a
splendid and almost perfeot piece of
mochsntsm. Its register is so accu
rate ilial the most elaborate work In
any number of colors can be printed
with the utmost precision. This is
truly remarkable far se large a ma
chine and would have been consider
ed an impossibility a few years back
boforo staam power was adjusted to
this kind of work. If Sennefeldor,
the father of the art, could come
amongst ns once more he would be
agreeably surprised at the immense
Increase and wonderful resources of
hts discovery; at tho timo ho first
printed from stone, we are lelil that
heeonldonly tako impressions 10 or
12 inches square and used a vertical
pressure ot many tons which as often
as not smashed tho stones Instead of
printing from them. This press tako*
a stone 32 by 40 Inches, and enables
from S to 100 copies (acuording to
size) of a pleeo of work to be printed
at one Impression, thus reducing the
eoitof production to a minimum. The
mammoth and complicated machine
weighs nearly eight tens, but runs as
smoothly and almost as noiselessly
as the useful and übiquitous sowing
machine. Although the Morning
News Steam Printing House has al
ways considered itself iu a position to
hantllo any quantity ef color or Com
mercial work that might bo ontrustod
1011, this new machine trebles its fa
i allies, and it is not claiming too
much when it says it could do all the
Hhograpltic work required by Geor
gia, South Carolina, Florida and Ala
bama.
The Morxino News mamigcment
will he happy lo show this press and
its other facilities for printing, book
binding, ole., to any uf its friends and
patrons who will fttror tho c tabllsh
mont with a visit.
