DISPOSING OF MBS. DUDLEY.
She la Booked for an Asylum—A Female
Dynamiter Who was After Her.
New York, .mly 2.—The case of
Mrs. Lucille Yseult Dudley, who was
acipiiltcd on the ground of insanity
of a felonious assault in shooting
O’Donovan Uossa. was up in court
again to-day. Before the proceed
ings began a woman laboring under
excitement appeared at the door of
the court. She was prevented from
entering, when she announced her*
self as a dynamiter. She said that
Mrs. Dudley was no more insane
than she (the speaker) \va- T and asked
why Mis. Dudley was not sent to
jail like other people. When told to
leave the building she refused and
was arrested and taken to the Police
Court. Mr. Dudley was in coni! hut
was confined in lire prisoner's pen.
mbs. Dudley's r.m:
Judge fiilderslcevc, the Di.irici
Attorney and me prisoners counsel
held a long consultation at tlie end j
of which the court denied a motion ,
to transfer Mrs. Dudley to an En
glish asylum. The District Attorney I
suggested that site he sent to the
State asylum at xtubnrn. But
Jut! Be Gilderdccvc expressed his
preference for the .Middletown asy
lum and sent Mrs. Dudley there to he
confined indefinitely*. When notified
of tins disposition of her ease the
prisoner said that she was sati-tied,
that site needed rest and seclu
sion and expected to he betiefitted by
the treatment, in Middletown. She
will probably be taken to tier new
quarters to-morrow.
ItOXOBA SENT TO JAIL.
Honora Bowles, tho woman who
raised the disturbance in tin* Gener
al Sessions to-day when Mrs. Dud
ley wa arraigned for committal,
was Heed $lO in me Tombs Police
Court lal * in the day, and sent to
prison nt default ot payment.
She said that she had given O’Don
ovan a portion of her earnings tor
years, and believed that Mrs. Dudley
deserved severe punishment, and in
the excitement gave vent to her ideas.
A COcOKLD LAWYER.
Finds Himself In ft Peek of trouble at
LxGrumte.
A dispatch ot I tie 4tli trom La-
Grange. says: The arrest off - t-
Lindsey, the colored law > er hero la-l
night created a sensation. He had
last year produced in court a paper
erased and changed to -nit his intcr
e-ts (tie being u parly), and T 11.
Whitaker openly charged forgery
then. Later he had brought suits o*
divorce between negroes actually
living, and acknowledge service for
defendants,when he was for plaintiff.
This time a teacher's license, signed
John E. Tonic (now dead), was
changed. Second grade was made to
read •'first,*’ two vents was made to
read “three,” and Jtdy ISS3 changed
to January, !v>"l “ Colonel Toole lias
died since January. Hon. O. A. Hull
his successor, closely investigated and
found Col. Toole’s hooks show that
second grade license issued to Lind
sey for one Chivers, in July 1883.
These two asked for an eraser last Sat
urday and were seen working on a
printed form secretiv. Chivers now
confesses and says L., being a lawyer
told him ’twas not wrong etc., and
he knew the law . Mr. Bull, alter
seeing to ( ,’s board had a warrant
issued by Judge Whitaker of tlie
County Court. The marshal o tie re 1
to accept $1(>0 t>ond lint L. could not
even give that.

evidem-e of its exertion. A year ago
slip concealed all panting by a short
synchronous spasmodic laugh. Now
she has trained past this point. A
year ago stie used leverage in ail her
feats witch necessary. Now -he has
trained past this necessity in most
feats. Now*, ns a year ago. when
about to be toiled, site lets go, and
either puts up her hands to protect
her face or eyes, or to smooth iter
bangs. On the other hand, Ivor res
piration is not much apparently quick
cited, not* Iter pulse accelerated be
\ ond ten beats. The repression of ap
pearances of exertion is the result of
training. Her very great physical

Almost every person lias some form
of scrofulous poison latent in his reins.
When this develops in scrofulous
sores, ulcers, or eruptions, or takes
the form of rheumatism, or aganic
disease, tho suffering that ensues is
terrible beyond description. Hence
the gratitude of those who discover,
as thousands yearly do. that Ayer's
Sarsaparilla will tliorougnlp eradieato
this evil front the system.
There are fourteen prisoners in the
Dougherty couuty jail.
SHE DIED ALL ALU N E
lin old Indy In Barnwell Dresses tier
self rnr Hie Grave, Lies down and
Dies.
Mrs N. A. Snclting, whose home
was about six miles west t Barnwell
died on tlie 24ih Inst., under remark
able circumstances. Ever since tier
husband’s death, which occurred
some years ago, she lias insisted upon
living atone, and frequently said that
when she died stie wished to diealona.
Her son Mr. Jerry Snclling?, offered
every inducement to get her
to live with him in ids
comfortable home without avail.
She lived as she desired, alone
in a house near Mr. Spellings, who
wont or sent someone lo sec* after to
her even* day. Last week site told
him to get some eindles for Iter, that
they would hare to use them lo sit up
by in a few days, that she would not
live long, and stie wanted lo have
them ready. They were gotten and
I sure enough were used to sit up with
I her corpse as she had indicated. She
I was quite old, but was apparently
[ well at the lime of her death.
| A negro living near rode up
to the gate, just after a very
hard rain and wind, and seeing at!
the doors and windows open, sus
pected that something was wrong.
He railed, but no one answering, he
went for Mr. Suelling. who went and
found hi- mother lying upon tl.e bed
dead. She was drestud in Iter burial
clothe*. It appeared that she had ar
ranged everything for such an oecas
simr, then dressed herselt in the bur
ial clot boa Which she* had already
made up, and gone t>> the lied, placed
herself on it and died. Site died atone
as site had desired.
THOMASVILLE DIRT.
Judge M. W. Hopkins ’treated
Thomasvilte to a novel occurrence in
fthe way of sidling at public outcry
several Ir.wn lots in that pari of the
town known as West End. As the
name indicates this piece ol land lies
on the west side of Thomasville ju-t
In ttie corporate limits. Its history
f>r the last eighteen months shows
how rapidly Thoinasvil e dirt is ap
preciating in value. It was bought
a year and a half ago for $1,350. It
next changed hands at $2,600. Next
at s:’>.ooo to-W. 11. l!o;>kin-, who next
opened streets through that part next
to town, dividing it into lot* ot a
quarter acre each. The part not di
vided up brought him the purchase
money and about halt the remainder
sold at public outer , for oyer $3,000
insuring him about $5,000 profit.
The best and most careful business
men of place arc represented among
file purchasers. If there ivanydoebt
about Tltomasvillc’s future, it is not
In tlie minds of those who know any
thing of llie town.
A MAI TREATMENT.
[From tti.: Ogtethrops, C.. KcUoJ
The other day while a negro was
passing by a cotton Held belonging
to one of the best citizens between
Lexington and Crawford lie was
heard lo say:
“Dat cotton oiler be snaked.”
'•What do you'mean by Snaked’?”
was a.-ked him.
“Jcs git a string, tie one end f it
lo a long pot and a frog to tothar
ami-Jen swing the frog along lover
the rows so dal do snake will ketch
hold of him and you can pull ‘cm
out. Tbit's what -snakin' i-c and dat
cotton is too grassy ter me to go into
afore it's ‘snaked."
It turns out that Mr. Btilvhard,
ex-Director of the national mint,
made a great mistake ill refusing to
tender his resignation and trying to
make political capital out of his re
moval. Ho was condemned to deca
pitation for fliconipctcuey, and he
would have been better off so fair a
his future prospects are concerned if
lie had quietly stepped down and
out, and not brought about a state of
things that lias advertised his inconi
pc-tcney to the world.
“I have a boy baby," writes an Ar
kansan ,0 "Hr. Grover
Cleveland,” who was horn on ihe 4th
of March, I gave him the name of
(1 rover Cleveland. I cau say he is ti e
tiuesi hoy out of six 1 have. I did
not name him for any present nor
any favor, but 1 write to say to you
that if you will give nre a post-office
at Garner Station I would be miller
many obligations to you.” Tho Ar
kansas man would probably be sur
prised to learn that people who want
an office have been adopting his policy
all over tho country. Every male
child horn to a depitrttheut clerk bow
is named Grover Cleveland, and the
other .-ex get Uroviua tor a name,
just as it was the fashion four years
ago to iiama them James A. Garfield
and then Chester A Arthur. It is an
old game.
