by a “little advisory story,” entitled

to be canvassed), ho might be excused

Georoia Bonds, Says the Oolura- j
bus Sun: The last quotation of Geor- j
gia bonds, as published in the Financial :
Chronicle , is the most favorable which :
we have seen since the Bond liing coni- \
menced its assaults. Georgiy bonds are !
quoted as “stroug and higher on an im- j
proved demand.” The editor of the
Chronicle, in noticing this fact, ascribes ,
it, in part, to the demand for these
bonds which lias come from parties in
Georgia who thus shows, to the world
the confidence which they have in the
“soundness of tbeir own securities.”
\Yo never did believe that the under
handed machinations of Henry Clews
and his friends could really depreciate
genuine Georgia Bonds. The readiness
with which the people of this State
have taken up the bonds issued by the
last Legislature, has convinced the
world, that Georgia has not lost faith in
herself. From the conduct of Georgia’s
citizens in tills matter, outsiders are
convinced that when she says “I prom
ise to pay,” she means it, and will ful
fill it.
