The barbecue at Thompsons Bridge,
on Thursday last was a decided success.
There was a platform erected on this
side of the creek for dancing, which
was the centre of attraction with the
young people. The dinner was excel
lent, and for a short time received the
undivided attention of all present. —
There were a hundred and fifty or two
hundred people in attendance —princi-
pally from the immediate neighborhood
of the Bridge, although wc saw several
from other portions of the country, and
one or two from Richmond. The
shadiness of the spot, the good dinuer,
pretty girls, nnd pleasant faces of friends
combined to make it a of pleasure
which will not soon be forgotten, f
