wise and commendable viewed from the higher
j American standpoint; but the truth is, these
! resorts are so much a part of German life that
» , t m i it is questionable whether it is wise or prac

As your correspondent was among the latter,

THE UNWASHED BOYS.
If the average men and women of the time
are getting demoralized, there would seeru to
be some hope of Young America, if we may
judge of a juvenile gathering ot working
boys at Cooper Institute last night. Several
hundred youngsters under twenty, met to dis
cuss their grievances; to organize a labor
bureau, and to appeal to the city for more
free baths and more room to play ball! It
was urged that Boston has seventeen free
baths, while New York has only two, and
these are so monopolized by the boot blacks,
