PRINTING It has been the custom heietofore, and will probably remain so to a great extent, for our merchants and business men generally to send North to have their printing done, simply because it can be done there at a little lower figure than here. If our people would discontinue patronising such men, they would soon see the policy, if not the jus tice, in having their work done at home. Calicos are not manufactured in the South, and hence the merchant must send where it is made, but here we have printing offices all around ns, doing work at a very small advance on northern priced, and still the work is sent away. We hope the time is not for distant when our merchants will awake to their in terest* aud patronize home institutions. It is a wrong practice and should b£ condemned. TO BE LEFT TO THE ' DECISION OF THE FARMERS. r I''llK question of caterpillars and It* terrible L destruction of the fleecy staple having, like the great flood of old, abated, a still more momentous question involves especial consid eration at the hands of the farmers. For many loug years E. Isaacs has catered to the wants of the traveling public; and to the farmers, the very bone ami sinew of our beloved South, lie has taken special pains to make them feel at home while In the city. His tables are tilled and the usual “allowancing’’ is not "allowa ble.’* Indeed you get what you call for and that without stint Now the questiou is: Will tie Farmers Support lii ? This question Is propounded with the confl dence that will be announced with that little but expressive inonosyUble which is so famil iar with young people enamored of cadi other —yes! The sturdy fanners knows too well the comfort that await him at the ISAACS HOUSE, To ausirer otherwise than affirmatively to Uie above mentioned question. While on the subject Mr. Isaacs wishes to say that his patronage has so Increased as to compel him to provide more ample accommo tions, and that he has leased large sad airy rooms of Huff's new building adjoining his own.
