We published a lengthy and intereating ac count of another Georgia mystery yesterday, ta ken from the columns of the Savannah Morn ing News. We took that article home and read it it over several times and thought about it. This is the result of the study : the article is a hoax; it waa written inside of Savannah ; it was written in a certain printing office; it was written by well-known genius and it waa not the “Profound Political F.ditar,” cither; it waa written at All an empty space, when there was an urgent cry for “copy.’' Bluckwcll aays he is often two weeks with out a mail, but he managed to become pretty well accquainted with the Boston fire. His letter is dated on the 12th and the lire occur red on the 10th. If it was not for the house turniug around we could come very near swal lowing it. Now what does our Savannah friends say? In Tona. Gorman, the talented correspondent of the Talbotton Standard, and travelling agent for “Slipup'a Patent Epizooty Cure ” ia in town. He has recently returned from Europe where lie spent a most delightful tune. John saye that among the many passenger* on the (steam ship going over, there was a charming German girl who could not speak a word of Engliah. ‘Of course John fell desperately in lore with her at firat eight, and not knowing her inabiii ty to apeak English, approached her and began Ito talk. He noticed that while she smiled Bhe 1 said nothing and be thought that it was be * cause she did not wish to speak with strangers nnleaa they were well recommended. So he began to tell her how he was editor of the Tal botton Standard with a large subacription list and good advertising patronage; that he owned an orange grove in Florida, and told • her how he cultivated the aucculent fruit; be told her that he had been to the Mammoth Care and seen the Nashville Fair; that he had drank from Adair’s Julep tree, and was an in timate friend of Pink Top Harris—but ahe only smiled. A day wore past. The same recital of adventure*, but she again only smiled. In sheer despair he asked a German on board what was the matter with her and he told him. John was sold, but he begged te learn German. He finally learnt the words ’Teh liebe sie,” fl love you,) and by that meant they became firm friends for the remainder of the trip. But the P.
