He then left the store and went to school In
Maeon as long as his money lasted, and then

Editors Telegraph and Messenger: In case
the Legialaturo should order an election for
Oorernor by the people, in our present emer
gency there ia no man in Georgia to whom we
can point with more pride and confidence, as
being the mats to fill the responsible office of
Goreraor at this juncture of our financial af
fairs, than General John B. Gordon. Ho com-
bines all the qualities of the bead and heart
which pre-eminently fit Mm for tho office, as
being the right man in the right place -, and if
plaoed in nomination he will sweep the State by
an overwhelming majority. Unices the tide of
rampant, wholesale plunder by our public func-
lion art on be speedily checked, we shall he hope
lessly doomed to want and penary. Financially,
Georgia ia to-day the moat tborougMy robbed
State in the South, with the exception of South
Carolina. With General Gordon at the helm of
State, the Augean stable of carpet-bag filth and
plunder wonld be cleansed instanter, and our
people would onoe more breathe freely and
aleep quietly under the oonadousnesa of having
an honest, faithful and able Governor to pro-
teet the right* and promote the interests of our
people, Bibb.

CANCERS CURED.
H AVING been afflicted with Cancer,*1 was cured
in the year 1856, after trying many prepara-
tiona and Cancer doctors.
I hare no new remedy to offer bnt the same old
remedy with which I was cored fifteen years ago.
I have since boen practicing with the same remedy,
and have been successful in a number of cases, a
few of which I refer to below, as living witnesses
of the virtues of my medicine, some of whom,
like myself, have been cored a number of years,
and yet have no symptoms of Cancer returning:

that could be added to the list.
I cheerfully bear testimony to the fact of Mr. J.
M. Hardaway having berformed a perfect cure of a
cancer upon Mrs. M. J. Ronyer's eye, after eminent
physicians bad failed to relievo her; and I firmly
believe his Cancer treatment to be a epeciflo for
