Synopsis er Weather Statement.
■Wan Dep’t, Ottice Cmor Signal Omozn, )
Washington, D. CL, November 10,7:40, p. u.)
The low barometer' which was Thursday af
ternoon in Illinois, has moved to Lake Ontario,
and a secondary area developed duriDg the
night in North Carolina, and ia now over Long
Island Sonnd. High northeast winds have ac
companied these disturbances from Lake Mi
chigan to Virginia and New York. They are
now followed by brisk westerly wind* over the
same area. Fresh easterly winds, with threat,
erring weather, have set in on the New England
coast. An area of high barometer has advanced
eastward into Illinois and Arkansas. Clear
weather, with north winds, prevail west of Al
abama. The pressure has fallen decidedly on
the Pacific coast.
Probabilites: Rising barometer with clear
and clearing weather will probably prevail on
Satnrday from New York to Lake Superior, and
southward to the Golf. The storm in New
York will probably pass north-eastward over
New England, reaching Nova Scotia on Satur-
diy night; the high north-west winds on Lake
Erie and New Jersey following closely in its
rear. Cautionary signals are ordered for this
eveninglt Cleveland, Buffalo, Oswego, Cape
May, New York, New London, Boston and
Portland.
Chicago, November 10. -Under tho high
rates of insurance the proprietors of ware-
houses have each determined to buy steam fire
engines for their own use, the whole number
to be called out in case of necessity; each ware
house to have a steam pump to flood the es
tablishment, thus doing away with the necessity
of insurance.

men, nearly all disohaiged sinoe election day,
were around the Court-house to-day endeavoring
to get pay for six weeks work.
Washington, November 10.—It is l>elifcved by
prominent gentlemen that the spread of small
pox in the Eastern cities is attributable to the
sale of boffalo robes taken f rum the camps of
the Hilgan and Blaekfeet Indians, who were so
severely stricken with that disease two years
ago. Since then several of the robes whiohwere
prohibited from being offered to the markets
have disappeared, and it is believed they have
been bronght East.

find no Fnsel Oil and no trace of any deleterious
mineral or metallic snbatance. The liquor presents
no feature which does not belong to the beet
Whiskies, while it offers some unusual points of
excellence. Its color i© dark, owing to the presence
or Caramel, which undoubtedly improves its tone;
the taste is smooth and the bead good. The re
markable strength of this Whisky, coupled with the
unmistakable marks of age which are to be per
