Mr —Wonderful and Extraordinary Cure
few of Rheumatism of twenty years’ stand
ing—Never in my life have I had so much pleasure
in doing any thing as in giving this certificate to
the world, and I hope it may be the cause of thou
sands of my fellow creatures being relieved from (
that dreadful disease, Rheumatism. My wife has
been afflicted with it for twenty years, most of the
time suffering excruciating pains in every part
of her body. Having no appetite whatever, she
was reduced to almost a skeleton. So violent were
the pains that she seldom could sleep without tak
ing large doses of opium. Every joint was swelled
very much, and her knees, hands and neck covered
with large lumps. She could do no kind of work,
the sinews and muscles being so hard and contract
ed that her limbs were drawn together, so that she
was obigod to be in bed constantly. In this condi
tion she had been for twenty years, without over
getting any relief from every thing she used, until
she commenced the use of 11. G. Farrell s Arabian
Liniment, the first bottle of which produced a great
change. She has now used five bottles, and the
swellings have nearly all gone down ; pain has en
tirely left her; she sleeps well and soundly; is
jpore flothy than ever she was in her life; has an
excellent appetite, and spins and sews all day. By
the use of' a few Lotties more she mus be as well as
ever she was. If any one doubts this wonderiul
cure, he has only to call at my residence, near Pe
oria, and learn the circumstances from my wnc s
own lips, or he can further enqu; e of any of my
neighbors. S/.MCEL Elson.
H. G. Farrell's Liniment is also an excellent rem
edy for palsy, sprains, bruises, cramps, chilblains,
burns, pains, toothache, sore eyes, etc., and in
horses or cattle is the best remedy in the world
where an external application is required.
Look out for Counterfeits. —The public are cau
tioned against another counterfeit, which has late
ly made its appearance, called W. B. Farrell’s Ara
bian Liniment, the most dangerous of all the coun
terfeits, because his having the name of Farrell,
many will buy it in good faith, without the knov -
ledge that a aounterfeit exists, and they will, per
haps, only discover liicir "error when the spurious
mixture has wrought its evis effects.
The genuinearticle is manufactured only by H
G. Farrell, sole inventor and proprietor, and whole
sale druggist, No. 17 Main street, Peoria, niinois*
to whom all applications for Agencies must be ad
dressed. Be sure you get it with the letters H. G.
before Farrell’s, thus —H. G. FARRELL S—and

WHOLE CORPS WILL APPEAR ON
Monday Evening, December 12, 1853.
In announcing the performances of the Ballet
Troupe, in Charleston, the Manager of the Theatre
prefaced their appearance with tho following no
tice :
[ty* TO THE PUBLIC.—Mr. Sloan, in an
nouncing tho above brilliant array of talent, begs
to state, that in taking the management of the
Charleston Theatre, his instructions by the Asso
ciation, were to engage artistes of the first caliberc,
regardless of expense. In this instance, he has
even exceeded his instructions. Inconsequence of
the number of artistes in this Corps, each being in
dividually a Star efthe first magnitude, it must be
obvious to every patron of the Theatre, tho enor
mous expense attending this engagement, is that
nothing but full houses can remunerate, and Mr.
Sloan relies upon the Charleston audiences, fully
realizing his expectations
With perfect reliance on the patronage and sup
port of his friends, and the public generally, Mr.
CRISP has entered into this
GREAT ENGAGEMENT,
Feeling assurod, the citizens will uphold him, in

WOLFE’S SCHIEDAM SCHNAPPS.
TO the editor of the Coa.ositHtioria.list <s• Repub
lic, Augusta, Ga., —Sir : It is due to the citi
zens of Augusta, and oihor portions of your State,
who favor me with their orders for *he SCHIEDAM
AROMATIC SCHNAPPS, that the conclusive ev
idence of its purity and medicinal properties, re
cently published in this city, should be laid before
them. Accordingly I have forwarded for gratui
tous distribution, some thousands of copies of a
treatise, setting forth its peculiarities, in which the
first medical practioners in America, testify over
there own signatures to its purity, and its efficacy
as a specific in a great variety of painful disorders.
As specimens oi tho opinions of physicians, who
have analyzed the article, and who prescribe it in
all cases whore a diuretie stimulant is required, I
have given below a few short quotations, from tho
medical coltospondence contained in the pamphlet.
At a time, when the use of adalEerated liquors—
the source of a perpetual thirst, which grows by
what it feeds on—is killing off itstens ol thousands
annually, tho value of a perfectly inocuous spiritous
stimulant, both as a curative and a beverage is
inappreciable. Much cheaper than brandy, the
Schiedam Schnapps is proved by analysis, to be a
purer article than the most costly brands of that
liquor ; while tho superior oil of Juniper, which
forms one ot its components, gives it a medicinal
character unknown in any other class of Alcohalie
preparations. It is the only liquor with which I
am acquainted, that can be used with the full as
surance that it will not create an inordinate ap
petite for strong drinks ; and as a means of quali
fying impure water, as well as protecting the sys
tem against the unwholesome almopheric influences
in low marshy lands and in new settlements, I
know of nothing equal to it. It is also, a most
agreeable cordial, and those who use liquor as a
beverage, will find that it refreshes and tones the
system, instead of creating the headache and nau
sea, which too frequently arise from the use of or
dinary spiritious stimulants. Like everything in
trinsically good, it has been counterfeited ; but
the exposure which I propose to viset upon ail
who vend a spurious article, under tho narno of
Wolfe’s Schiedam Aromatic Schnapps, will I have
little doubt give the coup de grace, to the imposture.
I am respectfully, yours,
UDQLPHO WOLFE,
