GEORGIA HYDRAULIC CEMENT.
THE following are among the many testimoni
als received in favor of the above Cement. A
fresh lot just received and for sale by
GEO. W. LEWiS, No. I Warren Block.
Superintendent’s Office C. R. R.,
Savannah, May 3, 1853.
Dear Sir: I havo recently made a trial of your
Cement, and am happy to say that it proved vc*ry
satisfactory. W. M. WADLEY.
Charleston, April 19, 1854.
We, the undersigned, bricklayers and plasterers
of this city, having used the Georgia Hydraulic
Cement, prepared at Kingston, Georgia, are satis
fied that the same is a good article, and recom
mend it as such. SEPTIMUS SANDERS,
J. B. LUCAS,
W. 11. GRUVED.
New Custom House,
Charleston, S. C., April 12,1864.
Dear Sir: At your request I have to state that a
bag of Hydraulic Cement, sent to me by Messrs.
Matheson A Simons, made by Rev. W. Howard,
rom his Quarry in Georgia, has been by me sub
eote-1 to ray ordinary test. I have found it to set
sapidly under water, and make an excellent Hy
draulic mortar. The bag of Cement sent me by
Mr. Simons has been made into rnoitir and laid up
into brick masonry a few days ago. It is now
quite hard, and shows all the indications of a good
Cement. Very respectfully, your obedient servant,
EDW. B WHITE,
Superintendant and Architect.
Messrs. Maclean A Co.—Gentlemen: I have
examined and tested the Hydraulic Cement you
have in store, from Mr. Howard, Cas? county, Ga.,
and find it computes favorably with the best New
Y T ork Cement. The lightness of color is, 1 think,
rather an advantage than otherwise. I cheerfully
recommend this Cement to Engineers, builders and
others, as admirably adapted to bui ding purposes
in damp and wet locations, and all localities in
which Hyrauiic Cement is to be used.
Very rospectfully, JOHN PHILIPS,
iel Civil and Mechanical Engineer.

ROGER'S LIVERWORT AND TAR.
FOR the complete cure of Coughs. Colds, Influenza,
Asthma, Bronchitis. Spitting of Blood, and all oth
er Lung Complaints tending to Consumption.
This preparation is getting into use all over our coun
try. The numerous letters we receive from our vari
ous agents, informing us of cures effected in im
mediate neighborhoods, warrant us in saying it is one
cvt the best, if not the very best, Cough Medicine now
before the public. It almost invariably relieves, and
not unfrequently cur, s the very worse cases When all
other Cough preparation, have failed, this has relieved
the patient, as Druggists, dealers in Medicines, and
Physicians can testify. Ask tin, Agent in ycur nearest
town, what has been his experie»ce of the effects of
this medicine. If he has been selling it for any length
of time he will tell you
IT IS THE BEST MEDICINE EXTENT.
Below we give a few extracts from letters e have
received lately, regarding the virtues of this meoioine.
Dr. a. S. O'iin. of Knoxville, Qa., says : ‘• I have be*.,,
using your Liverwort and Tar very extensively in my
practice for three years past, and it is with pleasure I
state my belief in its superiority over all other articles
with which I am acquainted, for' which it is recom
mended.”
Messrs Fitzgerald & Benners, writing fiom Waynes
ville, N. C., says : " The Diverwort and Tar is becoming
daily more popular in tlxis Country, and we think just
ly so. All who have tried it speak in Commendable
terms of it, and say it is very beneficial in alleviating
the complaints for which it is recommended.”
Our Agent in Pickens District, S. C,, Mr. S. R. McFall,
assures us “ that he uses it with great benefit in his own
family, and recommends it to his neighbors.” He gives
an instance of a Xogro woman, in his vicinity, who had
been suffering with disease of the Lungs for years, at
tended with severe Cough, who was relieved by the
Liverwort and Tar.
Such are the good reports we hear of this Medicine
from all parts of the I'outli. For a report of the sur
prising cures it has performed in the Western and
Northern and Eastern States, we would invite the suf
ering patient to read the pamphlet which accompanies
each bottle. To all, we say, have hope, have hope!
TRY THE MEDICINE ! '.—Be Warned in Season ! !
And neglect not that Cough which is daily weakening
your constitution, irritating your Throat and Lungs,
and in v iting on that dread disease. Consumption, when
so soothing and h aling a Remedy can be obtained as
Dr. Rogers’ Syrup ot Liverwort and l’ar.
Beware of Counterfeits and Base Imitations ! —The
genuine article is signed Andrew Rook as, on the en
graved wrapper around each bottle.
Price, $ l per bottle, or six bottles for $5. Sold whole
