GEORGIA HYDRAULIC CEMENT.
THE following are among the many testimoni
als received in favor of the above Cement. A
fresh lot just received and for sale by
GEO. W. LEWiS, No. 1 Warren Block.
Superintendant’s Office C. R. It.,
Savannah, Mav 3, 1853.
Dear Sir: I have recently made a trial of your
Cement, and am happy to say that it proved very
satisfactory. W. M. WADLEY.
Charleston, April 19, 1854.
We, the undersigned, bricklayers and plasterors
of this city, having used the Georgia Hydraulic
Cement, prepared at Kingston, Georgia, are satis
fied that the same is a good article, and recom
mend it aasuch. SEPTIMUS SANDERS,
J. B. LUCAS,
W. H. GRUVED.
New Custom House,
Charleston, S. C., April 12,1864.
Dear Sir: At your request I have to state that a
bag of Hydraulic Cement, sent to me by Messrs.
Matieson A Simons, made by Rev. W. Howard,
rom his Quarry in Georgia, has been by me sub
ected to my ordinary test. I have found it to set
sapidly under water, and make an excellent Hy
draulic mortar. The bag of Cement sent me by
Mr. Simons has been made into mortir and laid up
into brick masonry a few days ago. It is now
quite hard, and shows all the indications of a good
Cement. Vervresneetfullv yo -r obedient servant. ;
EDW. B WHITE,
Saperintendant and Architect.
Messrs. Maclean & Co.—Gentlemen: I have
examined and tested the Hydraulic Cement you j
have in store, from Mr. Howard, Cas3 county, Ga., I
and find it compa'es favorably with tbe best New !
York Cement. The lightness of color is, 1 think, j
rather an advantage than otherwise I cheerfully |
recommend this Cement to Engineers, builders and
others, as admirably adapted to bui ding purposes
in damp and wet locations, and all localities in
which Hyraulic Cemeat is to be used.
Very respectfully, JOHN PHILIPS,
iel * Civil and Mechanical Engineer.

ROGER’S LIVERWORT AND TAR.
FOR the complete cure of Coughs, Colds, Influenza,
Asthma, Bronchitis, Spitting of Blood, and all oth
er Lung Complaints tending to Consumption.
This preparation is ge; ting into use all over our coun
try. The numerous letters we receive from our vari
ous agents, informing us of cures effected in tlie r im
mediate neighborhoods, warrant us in saying it is one
of the best, if not the very best, Cough Medicine now
before the public. It almost invariably relieves, and
not unfrequently cures the very worse cases When all
other Cough preparations have failed, this has relieved
the patient, as Druggists, dealers in Medicines, and
Physicians can testify. Ask the Agent in your nearest
town, what has been his experience of the effects of
this medicine. If he has been selling it for any length
of time he will tell you
IT IS THE BEST MEDICINE EXTANT.
Below we give a few extracts from letters we have
received lately, regarding the virtues of this medicine.
Dr. S. S. Oslin. of Knoxville, Ga., says : “ I have been
using your Liverwort and Tar very extensively in my
practice for three years past, and it is with pleasure I
state my belief in its superiority over all other articles
with which lam acquainted, for which it is recom
mended.”
Messrs Fitzgerald & Benners, writing fiomWaynes
ville, N. C., says : “ The Liverwort and Tar is becoming
daily more popular in this Country, and we think just
ly so. All who have tried it speak in commendable
terms of it, and say it is very beneficial in alleviating
the complaints for which it is recommended.”
Our Agent in Pickens District, S. C., Mr. S. R. McF&ll,
assures us “ that he uses it with great benefit in his own
family, and recommends it to his neighbors.” lie gives
an instance of a Nogro woman, in his vicinity, who had
been suffering with disease oi the Lungs for years, at
tended with severe Cough, who was relieved by the
Liverwort and Tar.
Such are the good reports we hear of this Medicine
from all parts of the ?outh. Fora report of the sur
prising cures it has performed in the Western and
Northern and Eastern States, we would invite the suf
ering patient to read the pamphlet which acoompanies
each bottle. To all. we say. have hope, have hope!
TRY THE MEDICINE!! — Be Warned hi Season !
And neglect not that Cough whieji is daily weakening
your constitution, irritating your Throat ar.d Lungs,
and inviting on that dread disease. Consumption, when
so soothing and h aling a Remedy can be obtained as
Dr. Rogers’ Syrup o’ Liverwort and Tar.
Beware of Counterfeits and Base Imitations ! —The
genuine article is signed Andrew Rogers, on the en
graved wrapper around each bottle.
