CARTER’S SPANISH MIXTURE.
The great SprL g Medicine and Purifier of the Blood
is now used by hundreds of grateful patients, who tes

greatest of all medicines. Carter’s Spanish Mixture.
Neuralgia, Rheumatism, Scrofula, Eruptions on the

of the Kidneys, Diseases of the Throat, Female Com
plaints, Pains and Aching of the Bones and Joints, are
speedily put to flight by using this great and inestima

For all diseases of the Blood, nothing has yet been
found to compare with it. It cleanses the system of
all impurities, acts gently and efficiently on the Liver
and Kidneys, strengthens the Digestion, gives tone to
the Stomach, makes the Skin clear and healthy, and
restores the Constitution, enfeebled by disease or bro
ben down by the excesses of youth, to its pristine vigor

For the Ladies, it is incomparably better than ail the

Mixture will remove all sallowness of complexion,
bring the roses mantling to the cheek, give elasticity to
the step, and impr»ve the general health in a remarka

A large number of certificates of remarkable cures

AFFLICTED BRAD!
PHILADELPHIA MEDICAL HOUSE—Established2o
years ago by Dr. Kinkelin, corner of Third and
Union Streets, between Spruce and Pine. Philadelphia.
Invalids are apprised that Dr. Kinkelin confines his
practice to a particular branch of medicine, which en
gages his undivided attention. He cautious the unfor
tunate against the abuse of mercury ; thousands are
annually mercurialized out of life. Recent affections
are promptly extinguished.
Twenty years of experience in the treatment of a
class of diseases hitherto neglected and imperfectly un
derstood, has enr.bl d Dr. Kinkelin. (author of a work
on Self Preservation.) to prove that nine tenths of the
causes of nervous debility, local and constitutional
weakness, mental and physical suffering, are traceable
to certain habits, forming the most secret yet deadly
and fatal springs of domestic misery and premature
mortality.
Take Particular Notice —There is an evil habit some
times indulged in by boys, in solitude, often growing
lip with them to manhood, and which, if not reformed
in due time, not only begeis serious oostaeles to matri
monial happiness, but gives rise to a series of protract
ted, insidious, and devastating affections. Few of those
who give way to this pernicious practice are aware of
the consequences, until they find the nervous sy stem
shattered, feel strange and unaccountable feelings, and
vague fears in the mind.
The unfortunate thus affected becomes feeble, is una
ble to labor with accustomed vigor, or to apply his
mind to study phis step is tardy and weak, he is dull,-
irresolute, and engages in his sport with less energy
than usual.
li lie emancipate himself before the practice has
done its worst, and enter matrimony, his marriage is
unfruitful, and his sense tells him that this is eau ed by
his early follies. These are considerations which should
awaken toe attention of those similarly situated,
Marriage requires the fulfilment of several condi
tions, in order that it may be realfy the cause of mutu
al happiness. Could the veil which covers the origin
of domestic wretchedness be raised, and ts true source
in every instance disclosed —in how many could it be
traced to physical disqualifications anu their attendant
disappointments! Appiy then while it i» yet time, in
order to have your unstrung and relaxed organization
rebrueed, revivified and strengthened.
Remember, he who places himself under Dr. Kinke
lin’s treatment may religiously confide in his honor as
a gentleman, and rely upon the assurance, that the se
cret* of Dr. K.’s patients will never be disclosed.
Y'oung man—let no false modesty deter you from
nizking your case known to one who, from education
anil respectability, can certainly befriend you.
Two many think they will conceal the secret in their
own hearts, and euro themselves. Alas! how often is
this a fatal delusion, and how many a promising young
man, who might have been an ornament to society,
has laded from the earth.
Strictures of the urethra are rapidly removed by the
application of a new therapeutical ageht. used only by
Dr. K Weakness and constitutional debility promptly
cured, and full vigor restored.

plicitly, together witli a 1 their symptoms, per letter,

READ TUB FOLLOWING CERTIFCATE.
Tallapoosa County, Ala., Jan. 2,1852.
Dear Sir: —l send you this to certify to you that
your Extract of Yellow Dock and Sarsaparilla has per
formed one of the most wonderful cures on me that
has ever been effected on man.
I have been afflicted for forty years with eruptions
on my legs and feet; in 1848 they got so bad that I had
to go on crutches, and in 1849 1 had one leg amputated
above the knee. Id about nine months after my other
leg broke out in large eating and running sores from
my knee to my foot, and discharged a great deal of of
fensive matter. My groin also broke out in large biles,
which discharged much offensive matter, and at the
same time my left hand broke out in large running
sores nearly to my elbow.
The misery that I have suffered for the last two years
I cannot describe to you. 1 was in such agony that I
never rested day or night.
In October last my son brought me one of your bot
tle wrappers Ipead it. and found record of some won
derfnl cures performed- by your •• Extract of Yellow
i ock and Sarsaparilla.” I sent and got two bottles- of
it, and commenced takihg it. In two weeks, to my
great astonishment, my sores all became easy, and I
couid sleep all night, a thing I had uofc done for two
years. When I had taken six bottles, my sores had
enarly all healed. My sores got well as if by enchant
ment. I have now used, in all, eight bottles bf you.
Extract of Yellow Dock and Sarsaparilla,” and I now
onsider myself well.
I entreat all of the afiiicted'to try this Medicine for
believe it will cure any known disease in the world
Lay aside all prejudice and just try it. and proe aim its
real worth to suffering mankind, and entreat them to
take it, for it will curethem.
My case is well known in a large portion of South
Carolina, Georgia and Alabama, and if any should doubt
The above cure, I invite them to call on me and I Mill
show them the scars. lean be found in Tallapoo=a
County, Alabama, one mile from Stoe’s Ferry.

There has lone; existed a public demand for at
effective purgative pill which could be relied on a t
sure and perfectly safe in its operation. This has
been prepared to meet that demand, and an exten
sive trial of its virtues has conclusively shown wit!
what success it accomplishes tire purpose designed
It is easy to make a physical pill, but not easy t<
make the best of all pills—one which should havi
aone of the objections, but all the advantages, oi
every other. This has been attempted here, anc
with what success we would respectfully submit tc
the public decision. It has been unfortunate foi
the patient hitherto that almost every purgative
medicine is acrimonious and irritating to the oow
els. This is not. Many of them produce so muct
griping pain and revulsion in the system as to mon
than counterbalance the good to be derived frorr
them. These pills produce no irritation or pain
unless it arise from a previously existing obstruc
tion or derangement in the bowols. Being purel)
vegetable, no harm can arise from their use in an)
quantity ; but it is better that any medicine shoulc
be taken judiciously. Minute directions for theii
use in the several' diseases to which they are ap
plicable are given on the box. Among the com
plaints which have been speedily cured by them, w<
mav mention Liver Complaint, in its various forms
of Jaundice, Indigestion, Languor and Loss of Ap
petite, Listlessness, Irritability, Bilious Headache
Bilious Fever, Fever and Ague, Pain in the Side
and Loins; for, in truth, all these are but the con
sequence of diseased action in the. liver. As an
aperient, thev afford prompt and sure relief in Cos
tiveness, Piles, Colic, Dysentery, Humors, Scrof
ula and Scurvy, Colds with soreness of the body.
Ulcers and impurity of the blood; in short, any
and every case where a purgative is required.
They have also produced some singularly suc
cessful cures in Rheumatism, Gout, Dropsy, Gravel
Erysipelas, Palpitation of the Heart, Pains in the
Back, Stomach, and Side. They should be ireely
taken in the spring of the year, to purify the blood
and prepare the system for the change of seasons.
An occasional dose stimulates the stomach and
bowels into healthy action, and restores the appe
tite and vigor. They purify the blood, and, by then
stimulant action on the circulatory system, reno
vate the strength of ije body, and restore the
wasted or diseased energies of the whole organism.
Hence an occasional dose is advantageous, even
though no serious derangement exists; but un
necessary dosing should never be carried too far,
as every purgative medicine reduces the strength,
when taken to excess. The thousand cases in which
a physic is required cannot be enumerated here, but
they suggest themselves to the reason of every
body; and it is confidently believed this pill will
answer a better purpose than any thing which has
hitherto been available to mankind. When theii
virtues are once known, the public will no longei
doubt what remedy to employ when in need of s
cathartic medicine. Being sugar-wrapped they art
pleasant to take, and being purely vegetable, nc
harm can arise from their use in any quantity.

SSOO CHALLENGE.
HOB ENSACK’S WOHM SlfßliP. —An article
founded upon Scientific Principles, compound
: ed with purely Vegetable substances, being per
I foctly safe when taken, and has never been known
to fail in curing the most obstinate case. Worms
can never exist when this remedy is once used,
from tho fact that it not only destroys them but
removes all the slime and mucus which may ro
main.
THE TAPE WORM.
This worm is tho most difficult one to destroy of
all that inhabit the human body. It grows to an
almost indefinite length, and becoming so coiled
and fastened in the intestines and stomach as to
produce fits, St. Vitus’ Dance, &c., which is the
cause of many going to the grave, net believing
that thoso complaints have their origin from the
Tape Worm: consequently they do not use the
proper medicines for their disease. To those who
are afiiicted with this awful foe to health, I recom
mend the use of my W orm Syrup, and Liver k Pills,
the Syrup to be taken in doses of two table spoon
fuls three times a day, then take from five to eight
of my Liver Pills, to dislodge and pass the worm.
By strictly following these directions, the most obs
stinate cases of Tape Worm can be speedily cured.
ROUND OR STOMACH WORM.
This worm is usually .found in tho small intes
tines, and is the worm most common to children,
yet it is not entirely confined to them, as adults
havo frequently been known to sufi'or with them.
The Symptoms most prominent while affected with
this worm, are hardness and fullness of the belly,
slimy stools, looseness of the bowels, pieking-at the
nose, a blueish streak under the eyes, Ac. If you
or any of your children haVT) anv of the above
symptoms. HOBENSACK S WORM SYRUP car
safely bo depended upon—by using it ycu have a
certain, safe, and speedy cure; and if after using
t according to tbo directions, the patient b not
restored to health, and the worms thoroughly era
dicated from the system, you can rest assured there
is no remedy beyond the grave, as for f.iii, there is
no such word as fail with those who use my Worm
Syrup.
A-CARIBES OR SMALL THREAD WORMS
1 llieso warms, to which the human system is lia
ble, are the most truublesme of all others. They
are generally to bo loundin the rectum, and if al
lowed to remain, from the irritation they product),
lay tho foundation tor serious disorders, such as
lnllammatron ot the bowels, and other derange
ments ot the stomach. The best and safest rnedi
ctne that can be used is IIOBENSACK'S WORM
S\ ALP. Such is the astonishing power of my
medicines over Ascaradies, that I defy any one to
produce a ca-o where my AVorm Syrup and Liver
r ills are reoomm ended to be used they will not cure,
All that is necessary is to uso the Syrup in accord .
ancu with directions on each bottle; and in case o
gfintle purgative is required in order to allay tne !
irritation they produce, the Liver Pills by thcii I
sympathizing action and healthy operation upor j
the bowels, is tho most pleasant medicine that can
be taken.

will re-place weakness with strength, incapacity with
efficiency, irregularity With uniform and natural ac

but with a happy effect on the general organization.—
Bear in mind that all maladies, wherever they begin,
finish with the nervous system, and that the paraliza
tion of the nerve of motion and sensation is physical
death. Bear in mind, also, that for every kind of ner
vous disease the Elixir Cordial is the only reliable pre
paration known.
CURE OF NERVOUS DISEASES,
No language can convey an adequate idea of the im
mediate. and almost miraculous change which it occa
sions in the diseased, debilitated and shattered nervous
system, whether broken down by excess, weak by na
ture, or impaired by sickness—tlie unstrung of relaxed
organization is at once braced, re-vivified andbuilt up.
The mental and physical symptoms of nervous disease
vanish together under its influence. Nor is the effect
temporary, on the contrary the relief is permanent —
for the Cordial properties of tlie medu ine reach the
constitution itself, and restores it to its normal condi
tion. .LOSS OF MEMORY,
