Underwood Lead Field With
Plurality 14,407
Atlanta, May 10.—The state
democratic exeentive committee
today formally declared Oscar W, |
Underwood winner of Georgia’s
first presidential primary. The
committee declared the result from
returns with five counties missing,
the figures giving the Alabamian
'a plurality of 14,407 votes over
Woodrow Wilson.
The committee’s figures show a
total vote of 123,432, Underwood’s
popular vote was 68,273; Wilson’s
53.866; Champ Clark’s, 882 and
Judson Harmon’s, 411.
Following the declaration of the
result of the primary the commit
tee adopted a resolution recom
mending that the Australian ballot
be used in future elections 1n
Georgia. = This resolution was in
troduced by Cecil Neal, of Musco
gee, '
